What is up with this? I got an email today.
The match doctor personality test tells me that you might be my ideal partner. And I have had people email me and when I asked them why they thought we would be a good match they mentioned emails they received from MD qualifying me as their match.
Ok, I want to know if you can take us off these match things you send to people and can we choose to be removed from that? I am in a relationship. I want to be OFF that freekin list. It should NOT send out people that have marked themselves as IN A RELATIONSHIP. We should at least get an option. Especially the Gold Members.
Is this possible? PLEASE!!!!!

SE, click on "myaccount" then choose the option titled "e-mail alerts" you can turn off the notifications.

it's not really a test ladies it is the "ideal match" profile that you set up that is used to make those picks.

If this 'ideal match' system is anything like that infamous dating site with its extensive personality matching 'across 29 Dimensions'...RUN RUN RUN as fast as you can from anyone listed as a match!

Gray, I am not saying I am getting emails but OTHER people are being sent emails with me as a match for them. I am in a relationship and I do NOT WANT to be on the new matches list for people that DO get the email updates.

Spirit......I don't pay attn to it.....  .......it's a list that goes out........and not very often......and..........you hardly check your mail anyway ......I don't think it is a big deal.........have you seen your matches..........I have..........seen mine......  I just delete it.........Mom your zooming with personality........ 
Just like your mail everyone gets scammers we know the routine .........so we just do it....... scammers could careless if your in a relationship or not.....they don't read your profile.......... and tell me...............how many.............  actually read the profiles.......... .....whether it is a scammer or not......really.........I get my share of mail....it's not a big deal....... 
I rest....... my case..................

A lot of scammers use that line to hook ya *we matched per MD etc* then try to reel ya in  Since I know I have never taken a personality test on here when I get those I delete or if Im in the mood report because they are obviously scammers

I remember getting emails from MD before and they sent new matches or something so I know they send them out. I just redid my profile with ridiculous choices to see if it would make a difference. Haha. I still want to option to choose if we are sent to other people's emails.

I think what they may have meant by "personality test" is that based on what you filled out in your profile, you periodically receive email from MD with a list of "matches" in your area.

I've gotten the exact same thing and assumed it was from a scammer...but then I assume that any mail I get that's not from a fellow forum frequenter is probably from a scammer.

Sorry, let me explain again. I am IN a relationship, it is written all over my profile and I am NOT looking for a relationship, yet MD is sending my link as a potential match to all people that have accepted notices from matchdoctor.
As I recall when they used to send them to me, they send ALL people out on these lists. People that do NOT match my criteria. So, it is making people (men) think I am available. They do not bother to check my profile because MD has sent them this email saying I am a match.
Since they do not read the profile they do not know I am not a match nor that I am in a relationship. They, like I did way back then just believe they are getting matches and just email them instead of checking to see if they are a match. I did change my profile to read out of the country. Willowy and I are now neighbors. (Hi, Willowy!) I am getting much fewer junk emails now but I bet it will eventually increase again when they send another one of those notices.
Don't know if anyone notices but it seems to get worse at certain times then slows down again, the junk emails. I would bet that that influx of junk mail is coincidental with the weekly or whatever mailouts they have with other members ID links being sent to people's home emails.
Again, could we get an option to not be in that mailout?
I promise you, the one man I talked to was very nice about it in explaining why he wrote me. I was glad I was not offensive to him. I bet we run lots of good men off because we think they are scammers when they are just putting forth an effort thinking they are mailing their matches who would welcome them.

I agree. I am careful to send a little copy'paste that I have saved. I send them to the forums. Tell them to take a gander at all the different topics of conversation. And then, once they have their MD legs firmly in place, to open up an introduction thread.
While I may be taken, I think that it is important to throw fresh meat into the forums as often as possible.
