The OP used these words in his thread to make underlying racial slurs against a group of people masked by an attempt at a joke.
They're everywhere.In our schools.Coming home with our children.They're intercepting curves and plotting in two dimesions! The attack starts tomorrow at 8:00 am Eastern Daylight Savings Time. Kids, run for your lives!!!!It is the highly feared Arabic terror cell Al Gebra! Be careful, you too, will be just a function of the ex! Al Gebra will send our children home crying. America has been warned!
Does the OP have any clue that he is slandering Arabs? I'll leave it up to MD or the Mods to review and decide.
I imagine that the precedence of this case decision will set the tone on how racial innuendos will be dealt with from here on out.... white, black, hispanic, asian, and arabic alike.

 first of all 'arab' is not a 'race'. it's a culture. arabs are generally 'caucasoid', according to the traditional (now avoided) classification of races.
second, it was a joke. j-o-k-e, which is actually rather complimentary to the arabs since they are the ones who invented algebra in the first place. it was a play on words, not a racist attack. 'al quiada' isn't made up of one 'race' either.
the intent of the headline was obvious (at least to eveyone else, apparently), especially during this back-to-school season as well as our resident alarmist's incessant 'warnings'. besides, it's not as if this joke wasn't bumping around the internet for awhile (without anyone twisting it into a 'racism'). here's another take from an online humor site:
At New York's Kennedy airport today, an individual, later discovered to be a public school teacher, was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, and a calculator.
Attorney General John Ashcroft believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement. He is being charged with carrying weapons of math instruction.
Al-Gebra is a very fearsome cult, indeed. They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on a tangent in a search of absolute value.
They consist of quite shadowy figures, with names like "x" and "y", and, although they are frequently referred to as "unknowns", we know they really belong to a common denominator and are part of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country.
As the great Greek mathematician Isosceles used to say, there are 3 sides to every triangle, and if God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes.
Therefore, I'm extremely grateful that our government has given us a sine that it is intent on protracting us from these math-dogs who are so willing to disintegrate us with calculus disregard.
These statistic scumbags love to inflict plane on every sphere of influence.
Under the circumferences, it's time we differentiated their root, made our point, and drew the line. These weapons of math instruction have the potential to decimate everything in their math on a scalene never before seen unless we become exponents of a Higher Power and begin to factor-in random facts of vertex.
As our Great Leader would say, "Read my ellipse."
Here is one principle he knows with certainty, they continue to multiply, their days are numbered and the hypotenuse will tighten around their necks.
so you see, it was originally bush-bashing. 
(btw, most people who laughed could identify with the struggle and traumas of fighting with algebra. not every was as obviously as lucky as you, sir.)

Correct, but to you're average American, there is no distinction.
For the point of mocking those who require it, my point gets served.
And again, yes.
The difference between Arab and Iranian (Persian) is that of English and German.
Editted to add, Calculus gave me fits....especially after FIVE courses of it!!!!

I wanted to know where you got this information from?

That is what this whole questionable subject is about (a racial slur), and not about a private joke said in a bar, subway or at an airport.
