Hi there, My name is Jessica. You can call me Jess for short, everybody does. I am a 27 year old working single parent. I can feel a lot of people recoiling from that, but I didn’t choose to be a single mom. I work at a bookstore/coffee shop, I am the asst. manager. I only work part-time so that I can still spend quality time with my 6yr old and feel like a parent, and still make enough to support us. (I got dropped from college for missing school to be with my dad when he was in the hospital)
I am attractive, look younger then women half my age, I take good care of my body, I do need to lose weight, But I‘m still hot. I believe in the powers of good hygiene, and skin care, I don’t tan, wear make-up often or smoke. I won’t shoot someone else down for smoking, it is their choice, but I never have and never will. Sexy isn’t flesh, sexy is perspective! What I think I am is what you think I am. (I collect penguin/whimsical pjs)
I am eccentric, I’ve heard that word a lot in my life, the other one is weird. Last week I thought up an idea for a peddle powered car. I am creative, I love to paint, draw, even write. I actually would love to have time enough to sit down and plot out a story, Right now I have one brewing in my head that is a children’s story about a Panda with a magic kite. ( I feed Birds and Squirrels for fun )
And as for my son, he’s my world, not so much so that I can’t talk or think about anything else, but I am proud of the fact we’ve come this far. I was so not ready to be a parent when he came along, so it was difficult and a serious growing lesson. But I wouldn’t know what to do without him around, he’s my buddy and my helper. I’ve had to play both mom and dad to him for so long I just, I don’t know. Love the little guy with all my heart. (I hate evergreen shrubs & Lawn Gnomes, I have this fantasy only building a huge pyre and watching them burn up in a fiery column of doom!)
I love to spend time with my close friends, you know the ones you can rummage through their fridge like you’re home, and my family. I love sitting down to a good book, reading is an addiction of mine, I collect a lot of books, ranging from religion to James Patterson (Love the Alex Cross series). I am not a religious person in the traditional sense, I do not belong to a particular denomination, but I believe in the Devine.
(I love good cologne on a man, mmmm…It is a turn on!)
I enjoy going to this little Catholic Church a few block from where I live to soak up the peace and quite, It is nice to go when no one is there, sit in a pew in the semi darken room, breathing the incense, the candles lit are soothing to the eyes, and simply communicate with God. It is like no one but you and they exist, so intimate and refreshing, But a lot of my beliefs fall with in the Buddhist Faith, they are things I have long thought or felt. (I am an incense freak, Sandalwood all the way, Baby!)
I enjoy talking, debating, philosophical discussion, I love things that entertain the mind and spirit. I also love to be outside, walking the dog, going hiking in the State park a few cities away. I am not much of a swimmer, and I am getting interested in health, and minimalism. Less really is more, we overcrowd our lives with meaningless things and for what? Status? Just to say we have this or that? Isn’t that kinda silly and pointless? When you eliminate the crap all that is left is the stuff that matters, so it is bound to make you feel better, right? (I like Japanese anything/everything)
I also enjoy movies, eating out (not too much, expense and health fall into deterioration) Being in the car, although with gas being what it is, I shudder to look at the mini van in my driveway. If only there was another way, bikes? Sure but not when you have a dog, a child and need groceries. It spells a disaster without a lot of planning ahead. I would prefer to go by myself and get it done. (I can prune trees and tell the difference between a Phillips and a flat headed screwdriver!)
I am as much a doer as a thinker, my problem is a lot of my ideas fall through because I don’t have a fellow doer with the know how and tools needed. I get a kick out of designing furniture, house plans, stuff like that, I just am not familiar with certain tools required, and anyone I know wouldn’t let me near a power saw to save their lives, no seriously, I’d come away from it like that 5th grade shop teacher nick-named “Stumpy”!
(I like to take things apart, and put them back together.)
I mentioned my dog a few times already, she is a rescue dog, shepherd and Chow mixed, all black, purple/black spotted tongue. You can just look at her and tell what she is, it is just a good blend of chow/shep. My son and I call her a sh-ow. (shh-oww) She doesn’t have the bat like ear most shepherds do, or the unruly coat of a chow, like I said, she is just a really nice mix of the two. She is a very sweet dog once you get to know her, most people are terrified of her unless they are truly dog/animal people. It doesn’t help she has this huge deep bark, makes her feel bigger than she is. (I am the go-to girl for medical, metaphysical & technical advice in my family)

I had a shepow. Beautiful pup, but she went psycho and tried to kill my shep mix, so she got the pink needle.

Nala was an excellent pup. She used to pull me uphill when I roller bladed.
