We are throwing a few ideas around here about having a large Matchdoctor gathering.
We would love to have some feedback from everyone concerning this. We were thinking maybe a little after New Years? Maybe not? You tell us!
Also - we have plans to have free stuff, prizes, giveaways. Let us know what interests you! We will do our best to make it worth your while. 
If you didn't know, we are located in Fort Lauderdale (South Florida), so we would like to keep it in this general area. We want to give everyone plenty of time to throw out ideas and hopefully make plans to come down to the Sunshine State to party with us!

There are snow birds, yes. This is why we are asking for feedback from everyone. There is no set date yet, we would like to hear what our users think is the best time to make this happen. Any ideas, suggestions, comments are all wanted and appreciated!

Karaoke would be fun, and I know this is a tough one but would be so appreciated...please please hold this in a place where smokers have an outside area for smoking so those of us that are non smokers can join in the fun. A large gathering with lots of smoke is miserable... but I would love to meet some more of my fellow matchdoctor gang.

I usually go to Captiva for a week during the winter. I spend have of the time on Sanabel at Doc Fords Rum bar, but Ft. Lauderdale could be a nice detour and not that long of a drive...compared to driving there from SnowBelt Ohio. Round trip ticket in mid-late February is $300...not bad ....I'll tend the Mojito bar. I make a jalapeno mojito that'll kick yo butt.

I have found that giving some options to what to do during the day is good for get-togethers. Like sightseeing stuff. Of course all activities is optional. Planning breakfasts and dinners as a group helps out with preset times. I guess the best one I ever attended was one where we posted itinary beforehand. We had a meet and greet the first night and thats when we passed out the letter to the options for the day. Karoke is big also, fun to do. Dancing, siteseeing trips, or tours is good. We also had a toga party at one of the events now that was a blast!!!!!!

i think that is what they are trying to get going... see what people would really enjoy for a md party.
how does everyone feel about casinos? there is the hollywood hardrock hotel and casino. LOTS to do.. of course there is the gambling, but there are also tons of places to go for food, drinks and live entertainment. (and to smoke, dove )

there are hotel rooms for people to stay there, but depending on dates/room you want, it may be pricey. but there are tons of hotels.. i mean, it IS south florida. i doubt anyone would have trouble finding one if they flew down. speaking of flying.. this hotel is super close to the fort lauderdale airport.

Maybe after a couple dozen jalapeno mojitos I will do Karaoke. Or spit fire. I think the Hard Rock is a good idea. There is something for everyone there.

Travel to Ft Lauderdale.......in January?
Something doesn't sound right about that. To me, thats kinda like going to the ski resorts of Colorado in July.

I realize that, those were my suggestions, my input. Have a wonderful day. I dont think we will make it but I dont mind throwing some thoughts out there. Wishing the coordinaters the best, meeting new people is wonderful.

Considering most of the London population crosses the pond via Virgin Atlantic's flight into MIA and MCO during the months of Dec-Mar , wouldn't you feel right at home here?
To those who asked what I suggest, well if we get a large enough group, I think a short cruise 5 days/4 nights or less could be a fun option. Affordable for everyone, matchdr just has to be able to assign roomates, plan meet and greet parties onboard and prepare to have a great time!

GREAT idea MD! too bad it isn't more centrally located...but a gathering isn't always agreeable to everyone.
i would LOVE to go to FL in the middle of the winter...if there are group discounts and flight discounts it would make it easier for all! we already have melindamo who works for the travel agency...

please make it either during the typical winter break or after the typical semester is over with.
while schools don't have the same schedule, events like winter break and end-of-semester generally fall close-ish to each other.
never had a jalapeno mojito. sounds ... interesting. looking forward to trying it.
