Okay all you midwest MD members . . . this is it!! This will be the official thread for gathering all your ideas to put together the Most Magnificent Meet 'n Mingle (now lovingly referred to as MMMM) event. 
WSOR & I appreciate the input we've gotten so far on the previous threads & have decided to 'pool' it all together under this forum.
So let's start getting ideas . . . we'd like input on when, where & any other great ideas you may have. This is hopefully going to be a Midwest gathering, so lets think of some "centrally" located places & fun activities, we'll mix in some dates & let's blend it all up for what could be the best recipe for MD fun!!!

OK people.. some of you suggested we expand it out to a Midwest event, so here's your opportunity to share ideas, input, etc.  And even though it will be held in this area, it's open to any & all who are interested outside of the Midwest also.

It's getting late in the season.....is there maybe a lodge with rooms, a community room and fireplace? Maybe western wisconsin> That may get Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, etc.

Okay, here's a few ideas to get the ball rolling . . . of course it also depends on when people are most available.
As Loreli mentioned, some type of lodge, or maybe waterpark resort that has numerous activities (water is a great ice-breaker if it's not fozen)  . Okay that made no sense. This may be a good possibility if people want to get together in winter/early spring.
If we're looking more into late spring/summer then there's always camping, maybe some river rafting to accompany it?
Okay, let's have some more ideas! Come on . . . we know you all would like a couple of days away from the computer/MD to meet those you're typing to!!!

This sounds great to me......we had a Chitown gathering 4 yrs ago and had a blast. About 20 of us.
How about the Dells area...or even around Milwaukee....( I personally would like to get otta dodge here..so I am ready for a road trip....lol)

The Dells has quite a few lodges & hotels that are open year around & offer drastically reduced rates during the off season. I think any area between the Dells & Madison would be a good centrally located area!

Hey vampy & subtle . .. now we're talking. Just another suggestion here . . . my opinion is even tho this is being planned thru MD, if anyone interested in attending whatever the event happens to be, see if your area friends are interested too. Correct me if I'm wrong on this WSOR, but just because we're planning this thru a website, doesn't mean non-MD friends can't attend too. After all, the more people we can get together, the more new people we'll all meet & the more fun!!
So spread the word!!

How about a casino trip - northern IN & IL have some places - if you don't gamble there's other stuff close by. Or possibly staying someplace outside of Chicago (where its much cheaper) and taking the train over for a day group trip

I have no problem inviting friends....I did w/the Indiana camping trip, though only one ended up going with me. I have never gambled, but don't have a problem going to a casino to meet others (maybe I'll try it before my trip to Vegas next yr)

Awesome input so far. Gives us some ideas to mull over. WI Dells I know has @ least 1 major casino, & it's only about an hour away from Madison for those that wanted to check out the capital, or State St. The Dells also offers rail service (an Amtrak stop) which would be slick for those traveling from neighboring states.

Nice!! That might not be a bad idea for a time frame either. Something that won't conflict with holiday plans, & yet it'll break up the Winter. Whatta ya think?

I like the idea of the Dells area. Plenty to do up there inside and outside.
And anyone and everyone can come. In the past MD get togethers it doesn't have to be just members. The bigger bashes have included family members and children. I say....the more the merrier!
