Here's what I've found so far...
Looks like the rates for Drury Inn in that area run around $147 for a room with two beds and they appear to have plenty of openings for late June and mid to late July. The good and bad about the area is that Busch Stadium and the Savvis Center are both very close to Soulard. With this being the case, rooms get booked up because of ballgames and other events they may have going on in the area (some of which we COULD attend as a group). There would certainly be plenty for us to do but we would definitely need to plan ahead if we went into this area.
I can look a little further out and see what I can find. I found a great website with lots of bars with good Blues music. And most of them are very near the downtown area but I could probably find some different hotels that aren't so close to the stadiums.

We have a couple of ideas of where to have one, so as soon as we get some good hotel and entertainment info together, we'll figure out the best spot!

I liked your idea of doing the Dells!  but there are few from Wisconsin on here.A more central location like Iowa would be best for the midwest.

Hey Loreli,
What does Iowa have for boats on the Mississippi? Anything in the Quad cities? How about Burlington? I don't know anything about these towns. I lived in Sioux City years ago, but have never been to Eastern Iowa.
Hannibal, MO might not be a bad spot, but I've never been
there either and have only seen tourist brochures.
Still tossing around ideas.

I was overnight in Dubuque a few years ago and they had a fine casino onboard a riverboat.So fine I brought in almost $800 on a poker table!

Kansas City...is a good central location....Royals bb, three casinos, the down town Crown Center area.....known as the city of fountains, with lots of good eating places and much to see with in walking distance.....lots of night spots and entertainment.....and an International airport....easy to get in and out of.......just a suggestion.....also there are people within a short distance...who are familure with the city...and in planning a get together....its helpful to have someone there...who knows the area and can check things out.....
A get together sounds like a great idea.....Lets do it..

Why don't we get a list of all interested parties and THEN try to figure out what the central location actually is? That makes the most sense. Just add your name to the list and repost.

Yeah, I don't really care where we have it. St. Louis was just a suggestion. Just thinking that everyone will probably say that the city closest to them is the "most central location". If we gather everyone up and check locations we could then objectively find the central location for everyone involved. Just a suggestion... we don't have to do it that way.

Vic, there are casinos in the Quad Cities area. Dubuque just built a new hotel on the river with casino, indoor water park. So, Dubuque, Quad Cities, St Louis are where we are narrowing it down to? I know there's quite a few from Missouri here three Iowa Wisconsin Ohio. Sounds like any one of these will work. I'll get on some prices too.

Here’s the list and where everyone is from...I started looking to see what major cities are close to each of us so someone can try to see what a fairly central meeting place might be on the map. (Sorry, but I’ve got to get my butt to bed....I can continue the research tomorrow evening) As long as Jen is considering (she’s way further west than me  ), I’d love to try to make it!
