A HOUSEBOAT???? In the Midwest? In the middle of summer? You've GOT to be crazy to do that!!!!! LOL Count on a trip to the hospital for heat stroke before your visit is over!!!
A word of advice? Uh, okay....TWO WORDS: Air Conditioning!!!!!!

(Jester- there are several people here in Cedar Rapids that have houseboats nicer than many homes! With air conditioning! Probably at the Lake there also..)
I hope a lot of people show. It does take some doing to get things set up to make it most enjoyable for everyone-thanks Skooterkist for helping me out while Im recuperating!
Tourist areas typically spray to keep mosquito populations down. Most time we will not be outdoors so it shouldn't be a problem anyway.I will also check with friends that have condo shares. Maybe that's a possibility also.

I DO lighten up on the evils of midwest summers....usually around the end of October! It's just that I
don't take extremes of either heat or cold very well.... But then, I forgot - it's not the heat, it's the
humidity! I'm a midwest native...lived her over 50 years, and quite honestly, wouldn't think of living elsewhere....

Classy--don't worry about the heat and humidity. . .you can lie by the pool and be fanned by the pool boys!! Just be sure to get the "unscented" bug repellant!

Actually, a lot's gonna depend on the when and the where and if I can find someone to watch Tyler that weekend....AND if he doesn't have something going on - baseball, scouts, all that good kid stuff! When is it again?????

Loreli and I have picked July 6-9th. Thursday through Sunday. Quad Cities area. It gives everyone a chance to schedule, save, plan.... whatever the case.
We hope alot of people can at least make some of the days !

This sounds like a cool gathering, lots of decent people planning to go.... what would be the nearest airport, because if I can prebook and get a cheapo flight, then I might just be able to make it too..... after all, I reckon it's about time my side of the big pond was represented!
