The place is fine, but the date is not so good. . .

I may have to try to do some rearranging since China might be there, though. . .

Jester. . .if not the whole time, maybe you could make it for a day or so?

Jankia. . .can't you maybe do some rearranging, too?

I have a brother that always takes the 4th of July week of to go to our cabin up north and I do his work while he is gone.Since it is no more than a few hours away I may be able to make it on Friday night and stay on Saturday.

A word about hotels. Don't just go for the cheapest. Some at the Mt Pleasant gathering regretted their choice and had to scramble to get other accomodations.

There are times it pays to get something nicer, even if it means shelling out a few bucks. You'll be thankful in the end.

Good point, Motown....actually, I've been doing some searching online for accommodations.

I'm trying to find a place with hot and cold running maids....

I can't find any cheap flights at the moment for those dates, so I will probably leave it until the last couple of weeks and try to pick up a last-minte deal. And yes, I agree about paying a few extra bucks for a good hotel, it's always worthwhile....

Mo is right. In the long run, it really doesn't cost that much more. We had a very nice room. Also, the sooner you get your reservations out of the way, the better you feel about having things in order. HOWEVER, be sure to read over your ticket info. I had requested to land in Flint, MI, and I discovered (the day before), my destination was Detroit. I had to drive for a few hours to get to Mt. Pleasant.

If you go to, you can get your airfare and rental car, at the same time. Also, don't forget to get group rates for lodging.

I traveled and stayed in the Quad Cities for work, the hotels that the railroad used in the area, were not the cheapest, or the most expensive, but usually picking a major chain, that is moderately priced is the best plan....

and my plan is to Ride the bike down for the trip.... Rain, or shine....

just a reminder 5 10 12 rooms ask for a group rate and find out what the minimum for the group rate would be

dont worry about all being on the same floor you'll all gravitate to some one s room. good luck folks

Count me in on this!!! I live near Kansas City and think that would be a fine choice as well as St. Louis. I've looked over the list of those wantting to attend and i think st. Louis would be a more central location.

I think sp1000 is right on this one. . .St. Louis is the more central location for all those interested.
