Southern Illinois Singles Meet?

Attention men and women! I am looking to see what kind of interest there would be in putting together a singles meet for those of us in southern Illinois. I am open for suggestions as to the when and where. I will coordinate it myself or with the help of anyone interested in assisting with this little venture. I think it could be fun, a great way to meet new locals, make new friends, and have a little fun (which southern Illinois seems to lack!). Let me know if you are interested or if you have any ideas or suggestions.

would consider attending a party?
if it was at some place fun that everyone would enjoy....
something like a Fall hayride
or a spring golf outing
or a winery trip
or even something like a murder mystery dinner event ,,, where everyone particiapted
just suggestions
make it a GREAT day

I live in South County, STL but my home town is a hop across the Mississippi River to Chester, IL (not very far), southern IL is neat as well.
would be interesting to go and I've never attended a singles anything

So far, the interest level is low. I am going to give this some time and see what happens. I am thinking this may be a late summer or early fall event. Thanks to those of you that showed some interest. I will keep evereyone updated and keep the suggestions coming!

Sunshine-
Several of us started one earlier for the midwest, which would include Illinois (or anyone actually) We do already have a dozen plus going, Quad Cities, so that should be close enough to Illinois people to meet even more people?
Just a thought-
and I would be happy to correspond with you about setting final plans up!

Hi Sunshine, we're having a gathering in St. Louis June 22-25, which is actually closer to Southern Illinois than the Quads. So far, we have 13 on the list to attend and more have expressed interest by email. I can provide you with details you or can check out our thread:

Ok, I am thinking perhaps a meeting at Rend Lake. Here is some information about it and a website address for you to explore. This will be an inexpensive event...spend a day out at the lake, camp if you like, bring your boat if you have one...or we can split the cost for a days rental of a pontoon boat. BBQ, beaches, meeting new friend.
Located in the scenic recreation area of Rend Lake in Southern Illinois, is one of the most state-of-the-art facilities in the Midwest. We are conveniently located just off I-57 at exit 77, near the intersections of I-64 and I-24.
Within a three-mile radius, you can find:

You sure look pretty and you look young for I think it said 39 unless I'm incorrect.
I found you're post doing a search online but I'm not sure of the date.
Did you get your Singles meetings started?
Do you or anyone you know have a van?
I've got great idea's for fun day trips for singles.
For starters how about a trip to St. Louis Zoo. It's free to visit.
I know many other people share my love for animals.
I've been very lonely after a devastating break-up with my boyfriend in early Jan
and haven't had but only 1 date and that was recently. He ended up
being one of those "game players". So I've not had much luck not being
about to afford to pay these personals sites.
I think you have a great idea about your Southern Illinois Singles Meetings?
Did you set a place to hold them?
I wish you could pick Carbondale as that's where I live and I don't have
a car and I couldn't get anywhere else.

Sunshine, there is a Southern Illinois Single's group on Yahoo that you may consider... You are right about Rend Lake, as I was there over Memorial Day weekend and surprisingly, not very crowded and it was nice.

Thank you for the posting about the IL Singles group on Yahoo. I found it and joined. I would like to move to the southeren area of IL. I sent out an email and I am receiving some good responses. So, thank you so much, as I would not have thought to look for that web site.

Geeee, I was hoping for more than a thankyou..I was hoping all you "very attractive" ladies of Southern lllinois would all club together and buy me a flight across so I can come to your singles meet  ..I never get invited anywhere me  ..i'm away over here in this far away place ...with no other matchdoctor members within a thousand miles ..I hold my meet in a phonebox, with just myself and a stray dog for company ..could someone pass me a sleeve..i want to blow my nose
