user, I agree that your list is correct if using only stats but I was looking at the impact that some of the drivers had on the sport in addition to there winning records. Even then you notice that we have several drivers on both of our lists.
Hopefully we have some other fans out her ein MD land who will share there thoughts as well. Have a great day.
PS. I really wanted to add Mark Martin but felt if I was limiting to just 10 he would not make it. Note that he was my favorite for many many years and I still follow him even with him driving a partial schedule.

Sorry to post again so soon but I just noticed that the list I added to the original post yesterday is not there. My all time top 10 would be as shown in the list below. With the exception of the 1st they are in no particular order.
1. Richard Petty 2. Dale Earnhart 3 Jeff Gordon 4. Fireball Roberts 5. Alan Kulwicki(sp) 6. David Pearson 7. Ned Jarret 8. Bobby Allison 9. Buddy Baker 10. Cale Yarborough

Got your tickets for this race yet, katt? A group of us used to take the train out of San Juan Capistrano to view this one.

Now MO, you certainly have a track not that far away. Certainly within driviing distance if you really wanted to see a race.

Yes he does! Around an hours drive for him. Of course, it is almost all regular highways though. I hated when the race was over and everyone had to get in line to drive out! It is on route 12 in Michigan.

Mo, MIS is a great place to see a race. But so is Indy, well worth the drive...... And now there is a track in Chicago as well.... All within a few hours drive.
P.S. GO JR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great way to start the season......... This is going to be a great week........... Lots and lots of racing........
And BTW, complaining about the COT ( which is now the car of today ) is like bitching about a sports teams uniforms....... You can bitch all you want........ but it is what it is, and it is here to stay.

It's finally here folks, time for the Daytona 500, only a few more hours.
Great race yesterday and was won by Smoke (Tony Stewart) for the uninformed with a great showing from Dale Jr. Looks like he will be a factor to be dealt with in the race this afternoon.

Tha nks Angel,
Did anyone watch the Dale Jr. special that was on after the race yesterday. I thought it was really well done and showed much of who and what he is. If you get a chance to see it I would highly recommend it.

Yes, I hope it will be as accident free as yesterday. Had a few small incidents but really pretty clean and lots of racing. May your dirvier do well and may they all finish in good health and in one piece.
