Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know, I know, I know....Why start another football thread?
Well this one is season specific so we can get as wild as we want (Mod's overseeing of course) on all the events of this season.
First off my favorite Team is the (hides behind soapbox) Raiders. I am biased due to learning the game in Cali, playing rough touch with the team, and I look GREAT in a football jersey (insert laughter here). I do have a second runner up but first they need to get rid of that sorry ass choke artist of a quarterback (no names yet).
Will the Colts do it again? I say possibly. I would have said "HELLS YEAH" but PM is too humble to 2pete
(now that I got some fired up)
Current events: Michael Vick. Yes the hate is there and PETA wants his ass but football wise you need to ask the question: How will this affect Atlanta, the game, will he be allowed into Cleveland?
(bring it on! )

Why start another football thread? Sadian, my friend-the answer is: because it's FOOTBALL!!
I am, of course, a die-hard, bleeds Green-and-Gold Packers fan; but I don't see them improving on their 8-8 record of last season...and I think this will be Favre's last. Not because he's feeling past it-but I think he's catching on to what a double-talker GM Ted Thompson really is.
The Patriots look like the team to beat, to me...the Colts are still strong, but they have lost some key players. The Saints would be the best choice in the NFC-the Bears have had too much turmoil in the off-season...they'll still take the NFC North, though. I also don't think you can count out the Seattle Seahawks, although the NFC West is getting tougher.
Sorry, Sadian, but your Raiders and the Detroit Lions will continue to be the worst teams in their respective conferences: Al Davis needs to realize he's past it as a GM, and Matt Millen has never gotten up to it.
The Falcons will have a really bad season, as the whole Vick brouhaha will be too distracting.

Being a die hard Packer like steveemac,I also agree with him.Three things have to happen for Thompson and McCarthy to keep there jobs, but none of them will. The running back corp has to be what they the coaches claim them to be,Bubba Franks has to be a tight end not just another blocker for the offensive line and somebody other than Driver has to last 16 games catching the ball.No speed on our offense isnt going to help either. Its going to be another year of no production in the red zone. Our defense will have to win games to even get the team to break .500
The Big Ten is going to be interesting.I see Iowa,Michigan and Wisconsin in the top three. To hard to pick a winner just yet.

Yeah, I didn't get the full scoop, but I heard that the injury was nowhere as severe as they originally thought that it may have been. Thank God for that.

A lot of the "experts" are picking the Patriots, which is not a bad pick at all. However, I like the Broncos to win it all. We brought in Travis Henry to run behind the best O-line in the game. Cutler will have the reigns all season, and if for some freak accident he should falter, Patrick Ramsey is a worthy back-up. The question marks remain on the D-line, but we have never really had a great D-line, even when we won back-to-back Super Bowls. We improved in the Secondary by adding Dre Bly and the entire defense will be playing just a bit harder in memory of Darrent Williams. The Chargers are going to be tough in the AFC West, but I think they made a mistake by releasing Marty. Shanahan will simply out coach Norv Turner yet again. Look for Barrel Man to be sitting in the end zone at the Super Bowl. Go Broncos!
