Think that I will go cry someplace
Living only 40 miles from Title Town, this will be the story of the year.
Thanks for the memories Brett. You were a class act all of the way. You played for the love of the game alone and that makes you a hero in my book!

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that according to Favre's agent, Buss Cook, Favre informed Packers coach Mike McCarthy of his decision Monday night.
A sure-fire first-ballot Hall of Famer, Favre, acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons, led the Packers back to the NFL's elite. He retires with 5,377 carrer completions in 8,758 attempts for 61,655 yards, 442 touchdowns and 288 interceptions, passing Dan Marino's touchdown mark last season.
As a player Favre was known for his durability, his willingness to take risks and turn broken plays into big gains and the way his love for the game was evident in the way he played. He went to a pair of Super Bowls in 1996 and 1997, winning it all on his first try, as well as nine Pro Bowls.

The man got to leave as close to the top as he could have gotten with his current team...and more importantly before he started downhill...
This is the poster child for a man...and a great one at that...Though he'll be missed on the field, I suspect he'll remain in football in some form or another...

Give it a rest, lj....or do we have to remind you why you bailed out on Matchdoctor after the last Cowgirl toe-grabbing episode?
To use your own words:
What a pathetic ending to a great season.

I bailed out of MD because it is full of tired old losers like yourself.
It had nothing to do with football.

unfortionatly true, but thats not worth writing about, or it would been in a record books somewhere. Which there is none, cause it doesnt matter. And next year. Arron Rogers will.

I have to admit, I'm kind of curious as to what the kid can do. He's been riding the pine for a while now.

Favre was one of a kind. He loved the game, played it well, had fun doing it, and was a good ol country boy to boot. Whats not to love about that.
Im glad he went out before getting hurt and while playing some of the best football of his career.
Aaron Rogers looks like he could be a player. I like his mobility.

I agree, RockinDude. He's the quarterback of a generation much like Montana and Unitas were before him. His style and mindset was very similar to the quarterbacks of previous years.
Will his records be broken? Of course! As the game, training methods, offensive schemes, and rule changes continue to evolve, new "heroes" will appear.
I am glad he had the opportunity to erase his poor performances of the two preceding years with excellent ratings in 2007.
It will be interesting to see what he chooses to do next.

I think he will probaly get into coaching at some level because he loves the sport so much.I hope he doesnt get into being yet another lame ex-pro turned broadcaster.

I'd rather see him do that than coach. It seems the talented players always make the worst coaches.

kind of curious as to what the kid can do Better tune in on opening day, as Rodgers -if recent history is any indicator- will likely sustain a season-ending injury therein...the Packers are ending the Brett Favre era, and starting what might be their version of the Rex Grossman era...

Rogers will do great. He was good in college and also showed why they drafted him when he is on the feild. The rex thing isnt a rex thing. Thats classic Chicago doing what they have always done. Green bay doesnt let lame ducks float arround long. Don Magic Man Makowski, the one seasson wonder. First year in he was awesome, second year he fizzled, third year, he didnt get a third chance. Green bay has never allowed room for wish wash players, or the fans. You play you get paid, you don play you get traded awfully quickly.
