Think maybe the fact that between the 2 teams, they had a total of 6...yeah SIX...1st rounders in last years NBA draft.....had anything to do with that???
It was a rebuilding year for both teams....

both teams from last years final......Ohio St, and national champion Florida......didnt even make the tournament. That's one of the exciting aspects of college sports; change is a constant...if your team has an off year or two, they have the opportunity to turn that around; unlike some professional sports, where a rich owner can try to "buy" a championship: sometimes effective; always boooooooringgggggg!

When the ncaa enforces its "death penalty" on a program, often times, thats exactly what it is.
The two biggest victims of the death penalty that I can think of are.....SMU football, and UNLV basketball. Devastating for each.

Florida did go back to back , National Champs..and went 21-11..not bad for a rebuilding year.
Wisconsin had a great year..they should do well in the tourney
My Vols messed up..loseing a number 1 seed..but by far the best record they have ever had 29-4..number 1 RPI for weeks
Some teams get in winning their tourneys..cant think of that one school..16-20..crazy
Georgia 17-16 SEC Tourney champs
Kentucky 18-11..because they are..Kentucky

I'll take that bet in a heartbeat...Wisconsin is one of the 3 or 4 best coached, and best disciplined teams in there this year..plus they're peaking at the right time...won't surprise me a bit to see then go to the elite 8

HEHEHEHEHE and the guys at work thought KC was gona roller over Wisconsin. HA! #3 seed my ass. The boys are handling their opponets alot better then the #1 and 2 seeds. Not even CLOSE!
The high speed and fast breaks of KC couldnt even get them to flinch. Slow grind baby.

I must admit, though, my joy at Wisconsin's continued success is tempered by my disappointment at Marquette's heartbreaking loss last night to Stanford...as Steve "The Homer" True (radio voice of Marquette basketball) put it at the end of the game: "They did everything but win it!"
So close!
