Danica Patrick became the first ever lady to win an Indy car race today in Japan...
Congrats to her...it's been awhile coming but the monkey is off her back...
The lady always could flat out drive fast...now she's learning to RACE fast....
I suspect this won't be her only win...

She is a female who was finally fortunate enough to hook up with top-notch team. There were excellent lady drivers before her, but they never had the equipment to compete at the top.
I expect she will have more wins; if it weren't for bad luck, she would have won a couple last year.

Absolutely right...
Years ago, A.J Foyt had Janet Guthrie do a 4 lap practice qualifying run in his primary car...had she been in the race with that car she would have qualified something like 6th. Instead she didn't make the field in her pc. of crap car.
I've never understood why some big company that caters primarily to women like Mary Kay or Revlon didn't bankroll Janet Guthrie or Lynn St. James way back when. It would have been a windfall of advertisement for them and I suspect a lady would have won one long ago.

I sure wish she would borrow a page from the nascar driver who does back flips from his car when he wins (Carl Edwards I think).......except she could do it naked.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yep, he's the baddest man in the whole damm town!
Back OT - you know what kind of got to me when I read about her win - it was stated as not being a 'real' win because it was all about fuel management, and she could never win a wheel to wheel, last lap outmaneuvering type finish. I never heard a word about Jimmie Johnson's win at PIR not being 'real'! I didn't notice the sportswriter's name, it just seemed like a low blow...
