Well, the BS Championship is over & done with for the year. I guess the final polls will be out in a few days. So, my question, if you were a voter, what would your top 10 be? Mine would be
1. Florida 2. USC 3. Texas 4. Utah 5. Oklahoma 6. Oregon 7. Penn State 8. Alabama 9. Mississippi 10. Ohio State

I'd have to generally agree with this ranking.
Myself, I'd swap a couple of the rankings: I think Utah's perfect season & mastery of Alabama should count for a bit more.
1. Florida 2. USC 3. Utah 4. Texas 5. Oklahoma 6. Oregon 7. Penn State 8. Alabama 9. Mississippi??? Yes, they played a strong schedule (6 bowl-bound teams). and dominated Texas Tech. Not sure I'd rank them as 9. 10. Ohio State
Just quibbles, tho. Good selections, and I see your thought process in the final rankings.

I chose Ole Miss because of the big wins that they had in the regular season
Florida (then #4 road) LSU (then #18 road)
and in the bowl
Texas Tech (then #8)
They got off to a bad start, going 3 - 4, but finished strong, winning their last six games (including their bowl game).
Of their losses, they lost by 2 at (then #20) Wake Forrest & by 4 at (then #2) Alabama. They did have a bad loss at home against a bad South Carolina team, but that game was sandwiched between Florida & Bama, so I cut them a little slack on that. They also lost to Vanderbilt, who was pretty good this year.
In retrospect, I probably should have ranked them above Oregon. Yes, Oregon had a better overall record (only 3 losses), but the only big win they had in the regular season was against (#23 then, now #24) Oregon State. They lost to (#9 then, now #5) USC, (unranked) Cal, & (unranked then, now #9) Boise State. They did win against (#13) OK State, in their bowl game, but only by 9. OK State was a much weaker team than Texas Tech.
So, in retrospect,
6. Penn State 7. Alabama 8. Ole Miss 9. Oregon 10. Ohio State

I'm just going to have to cross my fingers and pray for a USC vs. Florida match in yext year's BCS Bowl. If both these teams are good enough to be in the top 5 this year, they'll find a way to be back on top next year, too.
No excuses about line-up changes or coaching shifts permitted. (As a Notre Dame fan, I own those excuses! ) These teams have been consistenly excellent in this millenium, so let's match 'em up and settle it on the field.

Next year, both Florida and Texas should be loaded. USC will have about as much rebuilding as they've been required to do during the Pete Carroll era. If Mark Sanchez returns, the offense should be awesome because the will lose only a guard and a wide receiver. On defense, however, they will lose two starters from the line, all three linebackers, and three or four of the cornerbacks/safeties. They obviously have players for those positions, but none with starting experience. If someone wants to have their way with USC, next year would be their best opportunity.
I, for one, am happy to note that Beanie Wells has declared for the draft!!!

USC is also going to have some work to do, with their coaching staff. They are losing both their offensive & defensive coordinators to Washington. I know that Pete Carroll is a great coach, but that has got to be a blow to the program.

Carroll has already replaced offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian by promoting current assistant John Morton. Additionally, Carl Smith, a former Trojan assistant coach and offensive coordinator for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars has been named as the quarterbacks coach and assistant head coach on offense.
Rocky Seto, who was the coach of the defensive secondary, has been promoted to defensive coordinator and replaces Nick Holt who joined Sarkisian in Washington. Seto previously turned down an offer for the Washington position. In all fairness, Pete Carroll is the de facto defensive coordinator.

Though I'd rank Texas ahead of Oklahoma, I believe if they played again today, Oklahoma would probably win a close one...
Though it may look like wishful partisan thinking and I wouldn't question anyone who thinks so, I rate Ohio State 9th because aside from the USC loss, the other 2 were to higher ranked teams by 10 total points...and they played Texas real tough...

In all fairness, Pete Carroll is the de facto defensive coordinator. Which is probably a big part of the reason that Holt took the lateral move to go to an inferior program in Washington. No matter what he did as the defensive coordinator at USC, he was always going to be in Pete Carroll's shadow. Now, he has the chance to show just how good he is (or isn't).
Of course, this isn't the first time that Carroll has had to replace a few coaches. Like a few other college programs, USC doesn't rebuild, they reload.
