Weathers crappy, what a great time of year to start the racing season.....
The second Gatorade just started, I'm getting ready for a full weekend of racing.
The cars look good this year, they can flutter the pedal, and still not lose momentum. Lot of passing, and that always makes for great racin.....

I'm sure glad the season is starting up again. Going to be a very interesting Daytona. I'm a little worried about how much the cars are bouncing around. 3 or 4 wide is going to be even more nerve racking then usual. Hoping for an exciting and safe race.

It always upsets me when rain ends the race too. Yes, even if the driver I love wins it that way.

With 4/5ths of the race completed would you rather the race went on using a slick track or cancel the whole event until next year? Just because a race is rain-shortened nothing should be taken away from the race itself or the driver in the lead when it was stopped.

They do finish it another day but not when its nearly over like this one was. I think one was called years ago just after they were able to cross the halfway point.

Thanks RockinDude, the boy only lived a few miles from me.A buddy of mine told me a few years ago that Kenseth was in a few of the races I used to help him in the pits at. That was some time before anyone knew how well he would turn out. I remember one of the first stock car races I helped my buddy in the pits, almost was my last. After the qualifying he got out and told us we had to do a tire change. While he was trying to loosen the lugs he hollered...rather pissed...Whose the a---hole that put these on? I surrendered. I learned real quick you dont tighten them down like its a tractor wheel.

A win is a win, but I always feel robbed after watching 3+ hours waiting for the exciting finish to have it called early. Glad I didn't go there this year. I was shocked they called it so quickly after the red flag. Oh well, maybe the best thing about Nascar is you never know what will happen next. Grats Matt and lets hope for a full race next week.

How could one not be emotional to now be standing along with the likes of Waltrip,Jarrett and Earnhardt. I just wish Mark Martin could take just one checkered flag home with him.

Mark Martin is one the finest racers you could ever meet. He is very fan friendly. He will stop anytime to wave, sign or just talk to his fans.

I'm a fan of Junior (okay, I was really a fan of Sr., but now it is Jr., as that is what we have now) & Mark Martin. As for favorite tracks, well, the one here in Charlotte is at the top of my list. The worst, Darlington. I went to the race there last year. What a snooze fest, in an incredible dump. If NASCAR wants to move another race, then shut down Darlington & give that date to a better track.
Oh, any projections about this week in Fontana? This early in the season, it is always hard to judge, just who has it together. Still, given the lack of testing, in the off season, I'll go with Carl Edwards this week, with Kyle Bush also likely to do well. For a dark horse this week, I'll go with Vickers.
