Michael Vick thinks Michael Vick is still worth a huge contract

I don't know what kind of access Michael Vick has had to newspapers, magazines and the Internet in prison, but it seems like the news that he is no longer a hot commodity has not yet filtered down to Michael Vick.

In papers he submitted to a bankruptcy court, Vick indicated that he plans on making $10 million per season, which I'm pretty sure would be a record for an ex-con who had a career quarterback rating of 75.7 when he went away.

While I don't see Vick as a $10 million a year player ever again, I won't be at all surprised to see some team pick him up, once he is reinstated by the commissioner. After all, he should fit in very well, in Dallas, Oakland, Washington.....

How about the fantastic offer the Albany Firebirds offered Vick for one year.
$200 a week and a whopping $50 bonus for every win!

He's right back to the big bucks but there is one other stipulation in the proposed contract.
It requires Vick to donate $100,000 to the local humane society in Albany.

That's kind of a tossup between the local police and the county sheriff.

Immediately eliminate any team that cares at all about PR. Then eliminate any team in rebuilding mode.

My opinion, the Cowboys, Bengals, and Raiders top the list.

I don't know...maybe it's time to see how he handles it from here on out and pass judgement on that...

Yeah, he did a really nasty thing. But in his defense, or playing devils advocate, whichever way you want to look at it....I could take anyone to the west side here in Dayton on any Saturday night (if it was safe!! ) and find 10 dog fights within 15 minutes. It's a ghetto thing. Not saying it makes it right, but, to me at least, it's become understandable how he got himself into this mess....

He did his time, seemingly like a man. It's cost him financially dearly. If he stays out of trouble, he has as much right to get his life back in order and do as well as he can at whatever he (legally!!) chooses to do as anyone else would. He's paid his price....

I wish him well.....

JMHO...

Fair or not, he's gonna be a huge headache PR wise for any team that even gives him a second glance. I doubt he'll get black-balled though.

Yes, it will be a huge PR hit, but in the right circumstance, it would also provide a huge economic boon to the franchise. Vick remains incredibly popular in Atlanta and the fans there would love for him to return to the team. That won't happen, as the ownership (Arthur Blank of Home Depot) is done with the drama. I don't know where Vick will play, but I can assure you that it won't be in Atlanta.

Vick is probably going to have to go some place, with a strong head coach, where he is not going to be in the mix, as the starting QB. While I could see him in Cinci, Dallas, Washington or Oakland, because of their ownership, I could also see him in Baltimore or New England. If Baltimore can basicly ignore Ray Lewis' conviction for obstruction of justice in a murder case, they can get past a dog fighting conviction. In New England, Coach Belicheat has done a great job of shielding players from the media and weathering other controversies. Vick could sit on the bench, play a few downs and not be a disruption.

To quote one of the owners, who could well emply Vick, "Just win baby." Win and all is forgiven (if not forgotten).

He'd fit in great with any team wanting to run the Wildcat offense. Assuming they can get through the protestors.
