Being a Laker fan, I have to admit Kobe is a bit of an ass. But he's the best in the biz, and proved it yet again. I've watched the guy since his rookie season. He's come a long way with his leadership, and it showed tonight.

Dwight Howard will get his one day. Probably not with the Magic, but he'll get his. The guy's a beast, but not even he could overcome the power of the Mamba.

DH doesn't impress me that much. No finess. No free throws. Poor field percentage. He has a long way to go. I'm glad the Lakers did it in 5

And best of all, this second fiddle knows he's second fiddle. So there's none of that tension.

Kobe wins, L.A is trying to figure out if they can pay for a parade. I guess it costs too much when there are fires set, cars over turned and yes, a shoe store broken into the night they won.
The fans were so happy this is how they let everyone know,,LOL

Tell you what...

It's no longer the Kobe and the 4 stooges show. He has some serious help now. The Lakers deserved it...

Now if the Cavs get LeBron the help he needs in time to prevent him from moving on....

Lebron's departure has been a matter of time since the day he was drafted. He wants big market, and Cleveland isn't.

Not so much. LeBron just wants to win. He is from the Cleveland area & all things being equal, I think he would like to stay there. Of course, if they don't do something in the off season this year, the probability that he will leave only increases. Given the fact that he & D Wade are both going to be free agents in a couple of years, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the two of them end up in the same place, perhaps with D Howard in Orlando.

BTW, D Howard is no Shaq. Sure, neither can hit a free throw, but in his prime, Shaq was a beast in the paint. Howard has no offensive moves & he isn't close to being the player that Shaq was. He is a great athelete, but that is about it. Paul Gasol dominated Howard in the finals. Can you imagine Gasol trying to stop Shaq, when he was in his prime?

The truth is, Cleveland management doesn't know what they're doing. They got Lebron thrown in their laps. Everything since has been one wish-filled move after another.

Can't argue with that. In fact, I am in full agreement. Just look at how they let Carlos Boozer get away, through their stupid actions. Imagine how much better Cleveland would be, with Boozer, than they are now.

Well SY, I can't say much about it. I'm a Laker fan. Look what Odom just id for LA and he's likely a goner.

The difference is that Odom is a free agent. The Cavs had Boozer under contract, for one more year, but chose to opt out of it, so they could resign him long term (at a discount.) Once he became a restricted free agent, Utah signed him to a six year, $70 million deal, which Cleveland did not have the option to match, since they were over the cap & only had access to the mid level ($5 million) exception.

If they had waited a year, they could have resigned Boozer, or at least they would have had the option of trying to resign him. As it was, they let him go a year early & got nothing in return for him. Typical Cleveland management. They continue to shoot themselves in the foot and while LA may lose Odom, it won't be because they make a stupid mistake, to let someone get him, when they have him under contract.

And if Odom goes, some quality players will get more playing time. Whereas, the loss of Boozer left a large gaping hole that has yet to be filled.

Many teams have to choose between having one superstar, or a team. Cleveland chose Lebron, and he has been able to grow the market where they can now afford more of a team around him. Many teams never reach that point.

I would rather have a team full of good players than one great player and a bunch of mediocres.

I disagree. In addition to Kobe, Paul Gasol is a legit all star center, second only Tim Duncan in the West. The only player on Orlando's roster, that might start for the Lakers is Howard. The only player on Cleveland's rost that would start for the Lakers is LeBron. In fact, I'm not so sure that Cleveland has a player other than LeBron & Mo Williams, who could make the Lakers team.

Bynum may not be a great player, but is there a team in the NBA, for which he would not start? The same goes for Odom. He is LA's sixth man, but he would likely start for every other team in the league. Add in their front court depth, Ariza, Walton, etc., and their roster looks pretty good to me. Yes, Derek Fisher is getting a little long in the tooth & they could use a younger, quicker point guard, but that is their only real weakness.

The only team in the NBA that comes close to the overall talent of the Lakers is Boston. BTW, while the Lakers could lose Odom to free agency, Boston is likely to lose Ray Allen. Advantage, LA.

The Lakers should return to the NBA finals again next year, with Odom, or without him.

SY-

Fisher isn't even average anymore. Ariza, although still developing, is at best a talented sixth man in a starter's role. Odom is inconsistent and injury prone. His inability to stay healthy is why he's the sixth man and might be the saving grace in their keeping him. Bynum is just plain aggravating. He's got all the potential in the world, and is just on the tip of figuring out how to use it.

Walton is best served where he's been most of the year. On the end of the bench, waving a towell and cheering.

Gasol? He'd be a ton better at PF than Center, where he gets pushed around too much. But that comes with Bynum staying healthy and developing.

But in the end, having Kobe makes up for a lot of these faults. Enough to give them a ring.

But to think LA doesn't have a few holes... I wouldn't say that.
