Once Alabama falls, USC and Texas are a lock for the championship game. Penn State could slip into it if one of the two should fall. The USC/UCLA game could be interesting.

Penn State has a bye this weekend, and I think only one game after that. They are at number 5 in the BCS standings right now.

Notre Dame fan here (class of '75) One of my nieces disgraced the family (and her dad, a Stanford alum) by atending USC this year. We've both written her out of the wills.

The Fresno State v. USC game should be interesting. If USC walks in thinking they've got it made, it could be a surprising outcome...

If Penn State goes all the way, Joe Paterno must retire.

Paterno has earned the respect and the right in Penn State and the rest of the country to not "must have" to do anything.

Wouldn't you like to go out on top? Before this season, his record hasn't been impressive and there was talk of forcing him out to promote an assistant coach. There has to be more in his life than coaching. To coach until death really would not be fair to anyone in his life or to him. The "must retire" was not meant to be mean but rather for him to finally retire and be satisfied with going out on top.

Me? Yes I would like to go out on top,but for Joe Paterno it doesnt seem that his goal is to be the best now or when he retires. He loves teaching the kids on his team, and I dont mean just how to play the game.He demands respect, morality and sportsmanship. If you ask him when he will retire,he'll most likely give you the old fashioned line...."when I die"

Football is a game though. Just a game. His family should factor into this somewhere.
