For the last few years its always a constant topic...
Will Favre retire or play?
As a diehard cheesehead I'm personally getting disgusted with his stalling on a decision, every year.
Its not fair to the team or to the fans in my opinion.

His statement "what are they gonna do, cut me?" was a little over the top. I can understand your frustration, and really, they're going to have to replace him sooner or later (sooner, I think) so why not bite the bullet?

"what are they gonna do, cut me?
After hearing that today if I were the new General Manager, knowing the entire team needs rebuilding and there is very little chance at a division championship this year let alone a Super Bowl bid, thats what I would do.One player,no matter how good he is shouldnt dictate how the team as a whole operates.
His stalling to see what new players are brought in before committing himself is dictation in my view.

That was my thought too, although I suspect I'd be in the minority up there in the land of cheese . . . .

Today you would be in a minority but that minority is growing daily.I was in the majority yesterday.
That remark you quoted put me in the minority.

This business of players calling the shots for coaches, and managers makes me even more of a college fan (of course, being in KY helps too).

I agree completely and so do many good college coaches far better then pro coaches that turn down pro offers.
For example, the best coach my state of Wisconsin ever had Barry Alvarez.

I think you're going to sorely miss Alvarez, even more than you missed the "Great Dayne". I noticed that Steve Spurrier has a lot more luck with college boys than he did with those NFL millionaires . . .

He will go down in the books as one of the best too.

I agree with that as well Kattsmeow but that is hindsight now.I think that maybe his reason for coming back if he does is like the old saying...."your only as good as your last song"
In his case..."season",which was his worst last year.

I agree nightrider, all this is true, but I and many other Packer fans dont care to tolerate any of the "my big head,I am the team" behavior. That is in reference to his statement above.

When a certain great quarterback came to Kansas City, he became referred to as Joke Montana.
Time to retire Brett.

I couldn't sleep last night for worrying what Farve's decision would be today, and he still doen't have one - even though he called a press conference. I wonder if Matt Leinart can play in cold weather?

After this mornings boredom from Favre PsychoMagnet if I were the GM I would take Favres $10 million bonus, trade our top draft pick from last year Aaron Rodgers for another first tound pick, get Leinart and another top
offensive lineman.

It is ridiculous the way he make's such a soap opera out of this. I would give him a dead line. If he doe's not give an answer than make Rodger's your starter and make him earn the job back.

This whole thing Jeff is going to do more harm to himself than his performance from last year did.Believe me,cheeseheads are getting a might sick about this whole fiasco.

I agree Jankia. I respect Favre as a player. I just think he is handling this wrong. It is not fair to the fan's or the team. I heard that they were having cut in's of regular show's in Wisconsin when Favre had something to say. That is a bit much to me. I will bet he stay's another year. That division is bad and they can be alot better. I just am not a fan of him as a person any more.

I dont know if they had cut ins or not Jeff,I was watching it on ESPN.
Its just sad that knowing all other great quarterbacks like Marino and Elway left the game with their heads up and if Favre quits now it is with his head down in my opinion.
Players are remembered as much by how they left the game as in how they played it.
Look at Pete Rose.
