The Tigers were pathetic last night. They started a rally with two homeruns in the 9th but they needed to start their rally about two innings earlier.

The two new rookies are proving their worth to the kitties. Brent Clevlen and Sean Casey both hit home runs tonight. It was Casey's first game.
HOT DAMN Carlos Guillen bats the cycle.
Oh man, make that two home runs for Clevlen.

Twins Update
tonight we just found out Liriano (rookie phenom pitcher) will not start tomorrows game due to inflammation in his pitching arm.... as we lose to Rangers 9-0
Radke, another of our starting pitchers has a tear in his rotator cuff, and is pitching day to day....
while I am a Twins fan, its just not looking good.... they've been on a heck of a good streak, but can they hold together....

This is definitely shaping up to be the Year of the Tiger, Spongsters.
Have you had a chance to see a game at Comerica Park this season? I work in Dearborn, not too far away from the place, but haven't been able to catch a game. I heard tickets are starting to become scarce. Could you imagine that happening any time in the past fifteen years???...lol.
Go Tiggers!!!

It's a do or die month for the Tigers. They have 7 games against the White Sox, plus they have games against the Yankees and Red Sox this month.

How about those Dodgers? 11 in a row and counting. Can I get three cheers for Ned Collettis trade deadline moves. Maddux almost throws a no-hitter then gives up only 2 earned runs in his next start. Betemit is smoking the ball and Lugo is just catching fire. After losing 13 out of 14, they are firing on all cylinders right now. The youngsters kept them afloat, now Furcal, Kent, Garciaparra (should be back tonite) and the veteran staff will take over.
Do I hear World Series bound? I know thats premature.

What really amazes me. year after year, is this. A team that is in the play offs and goes to the world series, really sucks the next year. How can that happen? Lets say they have the same players even.
I don't know,,,,as long as the Yankees don't go to the world series, I will be a happy camper!

i used to not believe this till this year...i play for a softball team that won last year. this year, we didn't play as well. maybe the fire is gone? i think at the pro level, you can;t keep that intensity level that high for that long. age is a problem for some. look at clemens...also, it takes a lot of luck and good health to get it done. it may have more to do with luck and health than anything eles...
i am that way about the atlanta braves! their streak will end this year!

i remember him at pittsburgh. he is probably old school! that caught the players attention! he used to go down in the locker room tunnels and smoke during the games! losing, like the tigers have, will also get you some high draft picks. and, the young kids that were rushed up have now matured. i have always like pudge rodriquez. sorry when he left texas.

We're definitely loving having Jim Leyland. He finally got thrown out of a game in NY the other day. It was pretty funny too. He went out to argue a call and they started singing the national anthem. He stopped arguing, took off his hat and put it over his heart. When the song was over he went back to arguing again till they threw him out.
9-0 against the angels tonight. Real glad august is over because it was one tough month for the Tigers but they still managed to hold the lead.

Mets magic number is 1 as of today, and they're activating Pedro for the game...
I'm still holding my breath...October's gonna be an interesting month.
