I've been thinking that when I lose my job in a few weeks I should rent myself out as a space heater. I can heat up any room very fast when the door is closed and the curtains are closed. I was always very hot-blooded, but now it's getting ridiculous. It's raining outside and I'm seriously wishing I could go outside, preferably naked, and stand in the cold rain for 15 minutes or so. I was really hoping to become a real bitch some day when I became an old lady, but it doesn't look like that's going to be the case ever. I'm still very nice and polite but I keep getter hotter and sweatier.

You're right. Less wood usage would definitely mean less work for you.

Yes, being able to walk out the door in any state of dress of undress is definitely one of the great advantages of living in the country. When I lived in the country, I walked out my back door naked most mornings so I would know how I should dress that day. Now I have to turn on the weather channel to try to figure it out. It doesn't work nearly as well.

If you're gonna be jobless and maybe homeless, may I please rent you for the rest of the season? My heating bills are killing me -- and I'm STILL freezing all the way to my bones

Candy, remember a night in Oct. when I was about to cook from the inside out? (the get together for those of you who don't know) Yep, I know just how you feel. I too miss the country life.

Hmmm...isn't all that excess body heat part of menopause?

LOL. I have a friend who is always cold and is just starting menopause. She tells me that it's not nearly as bad as she thought it would be. It's been cold here in the Seattle area, so I guess it's hitting her at just the right time.
Thank God for small favors, eh?

Thank goodness I passed that point. Now I'm always COLD!!!! Which is why I love the 90+ degree heat of summers here. LOL But candy, I bet being so hot right now is a good thing with all this cold weather we're having. Cuts down on the expense of winter clothes too, I bet! LOL

It probably does cut down on heating bills except that my son and I are having thermostat wars. He's been living with me since he came home from Iraq (Thank God). I keep the thermostat at 65 and it's still too hot for me. When he gets too cold he turns it up to 70. The pilot light went out about 3 days before he came home (first week of December) and since I wasn't sure how to light it, I went without heat. If my nose and feet hadn't gotten cold, it would have been perfect. That's when I found out I really can heat a room up with nothing but my body heat and some covers to help it get higher. My bedroom was much warmer than the rest of the house when I got up in the mornings. I don't think we're going to have winter in Indiana this year. We seem to be having a rainy season instead. Maybe I should move to Alaska for a few years.

Just a quick note candy--so glad your son came home okay. What a blessing for you. P.S. Mom and I used to fight over the thermostat too, she wanted it on 60 and I needed at least 70!! LOL

I have 2 brothers although they're not available, but TwoTall offered his services as a space heater in his "Man for Rent" thread. I didn't realize he had posted that when I posted mine. Great minds and all..... His price may be getting a little high now since there seems to be a bidding war for his services.

I think that's a definite possibility, myperogative. I'm still not wearing a coat when I go outside.
