I remember my 40th birthday ...
Barely able to move .....due to the fact that I was full term with a 7lb 4oz girl & an 8lb boy ...
Finally delivered them 9 nine days later.
Those 40's went in a blur.
Now I am thoroughly enjoying my 50's ... and quite proud to be 54!
(Although I will admit to the occasional whine about continuing this motherhood gig way past the *normal* time ... Been at it for over 29 years now)
Oh yeah... Must update profile to declare the one child now 16 years old
AND
add the news about the navel piercing I adorned myself with last week. This belly did fine work for five wonderfully healthy children .... I thought I'd give it a bit of a decoration .... and soon as I read the manual for the new camera, I may include a pic of the shiny belly button.

The fun part for me being in my 50's is that I don't LOOK my age. I've had several people say they thought I was in my 30's, early 40's and are totally shocked when they find out I'm in my middle 50's! A waitress at a restaurant argued with me that I wasn't as old as I said I was (this is when I asked for the senior discount which the eligible age was 50). She wouldn't even believe me when I showed her my driver's license nor did she take my mother's word for it (of course she didn't believe my mother was 84 either! LOL)
Genetic wiring - it's a good thing.

People all age differently and attitude can effect ones looks too. I've seen people 35 who look 50 or older. Most people think they look younger than they are but actually they look every bit their age. The best 2 things you can do to appear younger is keep a good weight ( non obese) and enjoy your life.
