well I guess I don't wear mini anymore, I do always wear my skirts above the knees, and most always high heels- never less than3 ". I'm pretty tall, so thats probably my best feature. Hate to cover them up.

If your face still looks young, and you've got the shape, then go with the shorter skirts. Today I saw a woman with LOTS of wrinkles in her face, definitely over 50 but had good shape/legs (I was watching the guys eyeball her in the snack shop), but I think she looked stupid. Sometimes you need to just dress according to your age. There are sexy age appropriate outfits for us older women! I would never flaunt myself in them with my BW size, but for those who can, consider the fact if you dress inappropriate, you might end up on WHAT NOT TO WEAR!

like many have expressed, if you have the legs, (and the body), wear them...we have the right, growing up in such a free society, to do what we will, consequences not binding... if you love the shape you are in, slap that "belt with a pocket" on those georgeous hips and strut your stuff i caused a minor traffic accident struuting my stuff a few years back, and i laugh about it still today..we are all creatures, and we should revel in this with pride! go, girls, wear them till they fall apart!

I wear mini skirts whenever I feel like it. It must be okay because other women compliment me. Women don't usually lie to each other about things like that.

lady:
What ever makes both of you happy. ... ... I think that is pretty much it; a compromise between the OP and her SO to keep peace and harmony.

i love mini skirts. but not too, too, mini.
although at 50something i find that it's more of a winter thing. wool with tights. looks classic.
if you can carry it off, have the legs, do so. but i think have the common sense to know that day when you can't pull it off anymore.

...Seriously though, it has been a long time since I have seen a woman in a wool skirt (weren't most plaid?) over tights with a heavy sweater. Some wore boots and some loafers. .... That is classic! ... and as in another post, "nostalgic."

I never thought of it like that, Nat. You may be right, but the last short skirt I wore a couple weeks ago wouldn't pass that test. I just measured the length. It's sweatshirt material with a tied waistband and just a casual summer skirt to wear instead of always wearing shorts. Hmmmm, now I don't know whether to wear it this weekend or not. Maybe it is too short.
