Doxie...that song was "Last Kiss" by J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers, from Lufkin, Texas. It's right up there with Marc Dinning's "Teen Angel" from '58 or '59.
Merry Christmas!

Mac!!!!
I bought a karaoke machine, just so the family would have something fun to do for Thanksgiving. It was the highlight of the gathering! My boyfriend is dating a woman w/ a young child, and he (child) and I were doing rap Pfffffffffffffffttttt noises. Very cute!
When I was home alone, I got out my mom's old songbook and sang tons of the old classics, all by myself.
September Song
That's My Desire
Love Is a Many Splendored Thing
Red Sails In the Sunset
Pennies From Heaven
Candy
You Belong To Me
Goody Goody
I could go on and on.
I love to sing. Haven't yet braved soloing at the local establishments, but that is a secret desire of mine (not so secret now, I guess).

"And each time I tell myself
that I can't stand the pain
well you hold me in your arms
and I'm singin' once again..."
Nobody sings it like Janis.

"He stopped loving her today' is one of my favourites too- I also love a song called 'Summer of My Life' s sung by Archie Roach (Australian Aboriginal). The song is about an older lady walking down a hospital corridor to a room where her husband once laid. Some of the words are 'she comes here every day, this little lady with hair of grey, and she just smiles and shuffles on her way, through these hospital corridors, she walks along the lonely floor, to a bed where an old man use to lay and an old man use to say - I'm in the summer of my life, I've seen the good times, I've seen the strife, I've just been under the surgeons knife, please don't cry my darlin' wife . He came here a year ago, and the doctors didn't know, if the time for him to go was near. When it came and he went to sleep, she prayed the lord his soul to keep, etc and goes on to the verse again - I'm in the summer of my life, I've seen the good time, I've seen the strife etc.
Sorry for being a bit long winded but I just love the song.

Summer of my life is not exactly 'old' it is just sad. An old song I really like is "Blue eyes crying in the rain" sung by Slim Whitman (His voice gives my goosebumps goosebumps)
