Guess that means you don't have your own ride... house, pets or much else. Better pray you dont get an offer that ends up badly and you get left at a truck stop somewhere.
I hope I plan my retirement better than that.

Very very true Spirit. Sadly some have not prepared for their retirement years. If you prepare right you don't get dumped at the truck stops by the women. You pick them up there.

Better pray that some guy like this doesn't leave you dead out in the woods someplace and drive off in your RV.

I honestly can't think of many women who are looking for "nice ,sincere guys" to support.

His profile says he is medically retired. My dr has advised me to take disability retirement but when I checked into it, I would make a lot less than if I keep teaching another 4-5 years. I could actually take regular retirement right now and have more income than if I took disability. Some people plan for retirement, some don't and some are pushed into it by circumstances beyond their control. JMO

Everyone has their own definition of nice, Earl. I should think that when people generalize like that, they would realize how judgmental it looks. Whose definition are we using for nice? And who is it that is supposed to be nice?

Men that really communicate well, are harmonious, don't drink, don't smoke or drug, don't try to shove their beliefs down my throat and tell me their way is the ONLY way, people that don't get mad when I don't want to have sex with them or be their good friends or go visit them when I don't want to...those are nice people in my definition.

That does NOT mean they are not nice if they don't fit my definition. I am sure I
could add more.

Besides, the main issue here is he is advertizing and that IS against posting policy. Many of the older members will tweak people that do things like that. Just because we get so tired of seeing it for the hundredth time someone posting a thread advertizing their services. *sigh* I call it the regurgitation factor. I just lose it sometimes.

My point was that several on here were making judgements against this guy without any basis in fact for doing so .....all the guy did was say that he was/is available.........For all you guys knew ,he may be a self made millionaire sitting around the house without a significant other , bored to death and looking for a change of pace ...he could well be a "nice" sincere guy unpracticed at dealing with the opposite sex and you shoot him down instead of giving him a chance or getting to know him first.
.....as far as "advertising" goes just what kind of web site do you think you're posting on anyway?Every single person on here that has submitted a profile is "advertising " their availability ...trying to "sell" themselves to their target audiences...these forums ,whatever there content may be, gives the "advertisers" the chance to expand beyond their initial "ads" and gives the "consumers" the opportunity to get a closer view as how the advertisers conduct themselves .Its very enlightening actually.Just this past weekend i realised someone i had an interest in is a bigot based on comments made by her on these forums.

I guess that is possible, though in my experience self made millionaires don't seem to have much of a problem finding romance.

Of course, if he is honest in his profile, he says that he has a high school education and an income of less that $25,000 per year. Add to that

I'm medically retired and on a fixed income

and some how, that does not sound like the millionaire type.

Just as men don't want some gold digger to use them as a source of income, women, especially women in our age group, don't want some guy that they have to support; nice guy or not. In the thread header, he says that he is looking for someone, who has an RV, or a live aboard situation. He offers to be a companion/driver, but says nothing about making any other type of contribution to the relationship. Now, I don't know about you, but if some woman tells me that she is looking for a place to live and that she is willing to be a companion/driver for me, year round, I'm going to think of her as a dead beat, who wants me to support her. I don't think that I would be alone in that assessment either.

Um, I went back and read all the posts again and only one person made a really strong comment but it was a highly realistic comment. Perhaps you are overly sensitive? Who shot him down other than the retirement comment? And by the way, Tatiana is always like that.

Again, 'nice' and 'sincere' is usually defined differently by each person. The OP has not been around for over 3 months and most likely not since about the time of his posts. (>3 months denotes over three months. They do not track it past that.) It is highly possible he never read her comment.

My personal view of your comments is being highly judgmental of others and having no sense of humor. Of course, this is just my snap judgment like YOUR snap judgment. Neither means diddly squat because neither of us knows the truth.

Have a great day!

Good god, someone makes a comment that he could be a driver/companion, and a bunch of you jump on him as if he were the South Hill Rapist.

Give the guy a break. it seems that anyone making a request or statement now days starts a flame war. Is this forum getting that anal retentive.

No wonder I quit reading these for so long. It used to be a nice place to have a discussion, but not now. It seems now that if anyone makes a statement, their jumped on like they have just committed a mortal sin or something.

Some of you need to get a life and go torment the cat or something to relieve your hostilities.

You know, everyone has their own thing. You are welcome to yours, Ocean. I still don't like you. Even less now. Someone piss in your cornflakes this morning? This is the second time you had something derogatory to say to a thread I have been in.

Oh, and I am STILL picky and I have a wonderful man that suits me now. I did NOT SETTLE. I waited.

Good. Most of us, are adults, by this point in life and not into such petty personal things. Personally, I just happen to have huge problems with hypocrites

I hope you can find something in your day that will improve your outlook on life.

So much for your prior statement. Please note the hypocrite.

By the way, I do not look for forums that you have commented in.

Your point being? I don't think anyone here was particularly looking for you.

Please have a nice day.

I'm sure that we all are thankful for your kind wishes. Bless your heart.
