I just posted my photo that was taken last Thanksgiving with my two grandsons who live in Florida, my son came to visit me with them and I got to see his sons for the first time. I wonder if anyone will reply now I am pictured with them? You see men flee when a woman has kids, they consider them baggage, thats so ignorant of them. January 25th I will be 60 and sadly I don't know when I will see them again. Can't move to Florida, have a 20 year who lives with me attending college, so I am providing a home for him here.

Well to be honest with you hopeful..some people do frown on putting pics up with kids in them...but I`ve seen so many..and I personally see no harm in it..and I would think it wouldn`t harm your chances of attracting a man :)
Very cute kids by the way..

That is true, men make kids but flee from we women who do nearly all the physical child rearing and being the caregivers. They ignore the fact that one day these children will be the citizens running our Countries or working for the big shots who run it. Thanks for the compliment TiNkErGrRrRrR.

We need to see more exhusbands with their children, why are you dads so timid about this? Us women who are great homemakers look for the family man. We want lasting men not those who just look for whats fast and easy. If you think children are baggage then don't bother replying. Right moms!

....who'd even notice the old man in the middle with so much eye candy on the edges?

I can only get creeped out by men with ex gfs, fiancees and wives in photos with them. I realize they have a past with other females but why post a photo of it on line? Children are ok by me. I think they make me more likely to respond back to an ad because women think if he has children in the pic he must be more safe or normal than the guy who doesn't have them in his life.

I wouldn't be worried about scaring men away, I would be more worried about attracting the wrong man. I always worry about women who post pics with their kids, it creates a smorgasbord for pedophiles. I realize I'm probably overreacting, but it does happen.

With most single men it is true, I have experience that. Maybe it was because those men are not what they say they are, we ladies have to be good detectives before getting into deep water. The photos I had in matchdoctor are all me at various times, the one now is with my shoulder pal. A budgie makes an interesting pal. My grandsons I won't see again until my son brings them over from Florida. I am on limited income and can't afford travels, he knows that. Some grandparents are just more luckier and richer than others I suppose.

What's wrong with a picture with you & your dog? She's 14 & spayed, so I don't think anyone will hit on her? And pets and children/grandkids are a part of your life. I actually think I have a picture of me with my dog, Migraine, on my profile. I checked with the AKC & she is actually the only dog registered as Migraine. I love dogs, so that's a big part of who I am. I train and compete, so it's a well-behaved dog. She does look at the computer, but can't read e-mail, so don't bother hitting on her.

So...who's timid about it???? Certainly not me!
Tell you what I'm leery of - a woman who's never had any kids.
Just seems like they can't relate to my way of thinking. I
started out at 10 raising my newborn sister, and then
started my own family at 25...and wouldn't trade them for the world!
Been divorced twice - and got the kids both times.
What are the odds of THAT?????

Hey, that's great, Jester! I like seeing an ex-husband who stays involved with the kids, nevertheless seeks and obtains custody! Kudos!
Hopeful Lady, I can relate to what you're saying. I'm a tad bit nervous about exposing the whole "grandkids" thing myself. I've been married twice, the first time right after graduation from high school, so I had my first of set of children (two boys) really young. My oldest two sons are actually 32 and 28. Both are married and between the two of them, I already have 5 grandchildren! (4 boys and 1 girl - ages range from 10 yrs old down to 1 1/2 yr old) From my second marriage, I have a 16 yr. old son (who still lives at home). I don't get to see the grandkids all that often, either, so I know how you feel. And they only live two hours away from me, but with everyone working, kids' extra-curricular activities that keep you closer to home, etc., we just don't hook up as often as we'd like.
Anyway..............Men are shocked and sort of freaked out when they find out I have CHILDREN that old, nevertheless how many grandchildren I now have! (Well, I guess after this post, it's out now, huh?) I get the "But you don't look over 40 yourself!" comment (which is always flattering, but I think I look every bit of 50 yrs. old), and right about then, you can see the guys' second-thoughts flashing through their minds.
Dating a woman with children can sometimes be daunting enough for some men, I suppose; but a gal with grandkids, too, especially as old as my grandkids are? And at such a young age (I consider 50 young)?
I met a 43 year old man recently who has a daughter who is only 9. Even though our ages are close, it suddenly makes me feel like we are worlds apart!
I don't know, it does seem present something of a dilemma when you're trying to meet someone or even get back into the dating world!
(Oh.........and I decided I would update my photo with a more recent one, so it should be posted sometime today.)
