[B]At the risk of opening a BIG can of worms, I'd just like for some of the over 50 guys to tell me what they want? In a woman? In a relationship? In life? So forth and so on. And YES I'm serious.

I'll be real interested in how they respond. They are smooth characters who will say anything they have to to get what they want. But there may be one or two honest ones out there...let's wait and see.

I would say there are 3 things.
First, a gal that is physically compatible with me. By this I mean that 200# fatties are excluded. After 50, weight is a SERIOUS consideration in terms of a predictor for future health outcomes.
Second, grandchildren are important; but should not be so important that 4 weekends per month are devoted to some other man's grandchildren.
Third, and last, Cats should be factored into the equation. Ya Dig?

Generalizations are not ..........
Men want exactly what women want. To be happy in life.
Does this mean that we must be with someone to achieve this goal? It would be ideal, but I think not.
We are no more particular in our choices than the female species. But, we all have reached the point in our life where we both want to be as positive as we can with our choices.
The time has passed when feelings alone sufice. Compatibility is now a major factor in our happiness quest.
Neither of us is going to change and we wish for you to join us in our desires as much as you wish us to enjoy yours. If we sense a reluctance to join us or tolerate our "manly" obsessions- we will flee and avoid commitment.
There is more to be said on this, but even I am getting bored.

Not where, but who. I found sanctuary for many years, but she changed. I miss the woman I married, but not the woman I divorced.

So PlaidLad...what do you have to offer to the under 200# skinny, non-grandmothers with no cats? Obviously it isn't manners.

My RN (woman) friend said at our age men were only interested in "Nurses and purses".
Unfortunately I think there's some truth in that comment, and at 65, being perfectly healthy, fit and retired, I'm not interested in taking care of anyone who has health issues as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle, nor do I intend to support my companion financially.

"Nurses and purses".
But seriously folks...
I have a problem with the generalities... "What men want"
ALL men? OK...there's probably going to be some commonalities, some similarities ... But individuals have different hearts, minds, histories, desires, and ...well...you get the picture.
And I don't mean just men. It's people. Different. Diverse. Attractive to some. Repulsive to others.
Finding *The Fit*...The other one who *Gets it* ... Complete & 100% compatibility? Doubt it. A combination of passion & comfort.
Reading posts to find out What men want may give insight into the individual but (IMO) not into the gender.
