Someone please prove to this 45 year old white male that there is intelligent single female over 30 life near Arab Alabama ! I am gainfully employed, bathe regularly, college educated, don't live with my mother, never served time and can speak in complete sentences. What's the problem here ?

I'm looking for a seasoned older guy. lol But seems no one cares.
I'm not that close to Arab, but I think there are intelligent women in that area. I worked training for my job in an Albertville store. I met a lot of interesting people there. Summer was a very nice young woman. I'm sure she's still there somewhere.

I agree with Captain Crewcut. It seems the women around the area seem to prefer men with jail records, professionally unemployed, drug users, abusers, and knuckle draggers. Like the captain, I am gainfully employed, never arrested, non-smoker, non-drug user, occassional drinker, own my own home and its NOT A TRAILER!!! But can not find a woman that appreciates that all my bills stayed paid
and that I am honest, caring, loving and giving..... GO figure. I am willing to bet that if the women in the area of Arab think about their relationships they will find out they have all been in a relationship with someone that fits at least one of those catagories.

I am sure that all around Alabama and the World there are many intelligent woman, the question here is what is it that men really want? As far as i can see men do not want women for their minds but rather for looks.

Women come from all over the country to Alabama - set up residence for 6 months and file for divorce from wherever they came from - clog our courts - spend our tax dollars- because of our laws and welfare system and DHR system (lack there of) etc.. and this surplus of women seems great but they are "has beens" - the others are expendable - I am convinced of this any Alabam woman is not worth having is my conclusion so far - I have many of your same qualities, but I am divorced have 3 children and I am a visitor and a paycheck. No woman in her right mind wants a man like me - or so I am told over and over. I have risen above this to a new level and started to look outside the state - and at a higher grade of woman - I think they do exist - but this grade school, welfare, multiple divorced, has children by multiple men that she can't indentify, and so forth caliber of alabama woman is just not for me. If there is a Alabama woman woman for me she better come forward quickly - these are my personal opinions - John

I like this thread - it's entertaining. Men are complaining about not finding decent women and women are doing likewise about the availability of decent men. Some even say its this state and that all decent folk have moved out (while they still happen to be here, hmmm).
Its like my favorite line "I need to stop going out to bars - you can't meet a decent mate at a bar". Wow, that's great advice from someone who obviously didn't think that they fit the same mold since THEY were at those bars at the time!
Face reality people. There ARE "decent" men and women almost everywhere. If you don't think so then you must not be in that category either. What it looks like to me is a bunch of folks who can't get into a good relationship for whatever reason so they automatically assume its the other person who doesn't quite fit the bill.
Yeah...I didn't get a 4.0 in school because of the teachers and I'm not getting a raise this year because of my boss, too.

Dear John,
Well it does sound to me that you have been around the trailer park for some time now and do need to move on. I am sorry to inform you that not all divorced women have been married multiple times and have multiple children by unidentified men. There are women out there with a college education (or attending college) with the desire to want something better for their children, whom happen to be, for some reason or another, divorced. Has it ever crossed your mind that these women of higher class might not want to be bothered by men who pass judgments on others without even knowing what he is speaking of. So next time you want to classify ALL Alabama women with such a dislike and bad taste in your mouth please be alittle more specific as to the type of trash you date, kiss and tell or what ever it is you do, before you lump all of Alabama's ladies into your short but sweet catogory.

I agree with jmaxwell :) If you are so quick to classify all the woman in Alabama as such, then that is likely what you will get since those are who you are focusing on.
Try broadening your horizons some and not being so quick to judge (this coming from a very emotionally and financially stable single mother of two).
You are also advised to look at the circumstances that other people are in before you make a sudden snap judgement that could cause you lose out on something very special.

Wow, didn't know I could be so disrespected for living in the state of Alabama. I don't happen to think of myself or any of the women I know as being in this catagory and since you do.......Maybe you should do us a favor and find a woman from another state and join her there. I'm sure you'd be much happier and so would we for you not being here anymore.

Why afraid to post a photo? Based on experience: Too many men are mentally incapacitated and cannot get over the past to successfully embrace the future. There must be some visual attraction, but I think personality is a major plus. There is more to a person (male or female) than just how they look. I like who I am and treat others the way I want to be treated, but shouldn't everyone?

Dear Captain Crewcut, Yes there is intelligent life in AL. BUT....I am convinced that it is shipped in, I have been here for two months and I am having the same problem, I cannot carry on a conversation with anyone that I have met so far. Even if you do meet someone "on the rare occasion" that is, to a limit, "intelligent", they also cannot complete a sentence, I believe it is a "southern thing"!!! Also, they are prejudiced against anyone who was not born and raised here, and there Daddys, and their Daddys, Daddy!!! I am so sure about my theory that I am soon to be gone!!! I have tried in vain to get along down here but to no avail, they simply do not like outsiders and refuse to be nice to any degree. It is so very sad that it is like this but it is a fact!!! I was in MS before this for 10 months and I incurred the same kind of treatment. Have a good day, "my bother" in conversation and intelligence....

*sigh* If you people would stop trying to meet people at the local dirt track, Wal-Mart at 2 AM, or some back woods bar, perhaps you'd find alot of local intelligence. I'll admit I'm "shipped in" but that was 29 years ago. I've never had a problem finding intelligent life and people who accept those who are "not from around here". Again, if you continue to frequent places that attract those with a lower IQ, you'll get what these places have to offer. Sheesh.
In my work I travel all over the US and believe me, there are hill-billies everywhere.
