I work a lot of hours and don't have time to socialize much.This area is very rural so there is not much to do at night.

I've lived in No Arizona since 1975. There is plenty to do, it's a matter of searching and finding what you prefer. Good luck.

Have you found anyone the usual way , like at the market or church or at the bookstore ,that you can talk to, and not feel treatened?

There are those of us that PREFER the small rural commuities. They have much to offer, that the larger communities cannot. Such things as....friendliness, trust, security, and the best place in the world to raise children! Here in my hometown, kids go to school with their "books" in their backpacks, not GUNS! Where "metal detectors" are something prospectors use to find interesting things buried in the ground.(me among them).. and the most important thing of all.." a place where life is gentle and conforting, easy to live, and easy to breathe." I never want to live any where I can SEE the air I breathe!" Louie

I agree with you.. it would be nice if we could all live somewhere like that, but if you have to work, small towns are sometimes hard to find work in. Besides, if we all lived in places like that, they would soon become large and you would soon see the air you were trying to breath. Good luck.
