Why the hell would you put up a personal ad with no photo?

I see tons of people on here with no photo on their ad. How many people will actually respond to a personal ad with no photo? I mean, I realize that it's not all about physical attraction, but let's face it... If somebody isn't physically attracted to you, no matter how much they "like your personality", things simply can not work. Would you really WANT to be with somebody that thinks you're hideous?

Some are trying to hide the fact they're married and don't want their picture posted for fear of being caught. Others have just joined the site and the picture isn't posted yet.

The only reason I have never put a pic up is due to Im out in the public eye quite alot in phoenix and accross the country. I have no problem emailing a photo to somebody right away. I always explain why my photo isnt posted. I just want to stay anonymous so customers or my ballet students dont know my business. But, I agree with you... in general if a photo isnt posted.. usually theres something to hide. Physical attraction is a must..

You're right about that! I have had people come up to me and told me that they have saw me on this site. It kinda caught me off guard but they were on here also...so there! hehe But, I truly understand and respect your decision not to post a pic.

there are some good privacy reasons, especially for a single woman, not to post a picture. but i do have one to send an interested man, and i say so in my profile. i'm sure i'm missing some good guys who won't even look at a profile without a picture, but i've decided the trade-off is worth it.

Some people do not want to admit they need help getting a date. When you get to a certain age, the picture could kill any attraction a guy has for a girl even if he likes all the other stuff and the conversation between them. So my suggestion for women is, put the picture in if you are not in a hurry to find someone ,other wise not. ....

Yeah, I agree, I don't think I'd respond if someone sent me a msg. without a photo. I agree physical attraction is important, but should never be #1.

to an extant, it has to be there beforehand.
However, to a larger extent, physical attraction will grow as a result of affection and love and should not be a basis for it

Something to keep in mind is this site takes around 24-36 hours for a picture to post. I started a profile on the weekend and it took until sometime today for the pictures to show up. I realize READING might take longer and looking at the date the profile was started and also asking some good questions. But don't you think it might be worth a little time to maybe find out through conversation what's behind door number one before NEXTING a person? Surface attraction while important does fade over time anyway as we never are what we looked like the first day we met. And if you are nothing more than ugly inside, that is even easier to hide, tougher to change and certainly not gonna make even the best beauty queen worth beating yourself over the head to spend time with in the end.....   ...
Just a thought.

You have got to be kidding me. Do you really think the majority of the people on here post a recent photo? I just recently saw someone who looked 15 years older than his photo and he said he was 58...more like 78 thank you. Some even put photos of actors or pictures off of a website of a model or bodybuilder...LOL Just remember...you don't always get what you see.

I agree with you 100%. My photos are less than 6 months old. I met a woman who looked 20 years older than her photo. If I can be honest, why can't other people. Don't they realize that you are going to find out eventually if things work out right. Why start something with a lie. By the way, it would be nice if you would look at my profile and read the e-mails that I sent you.

everyone looks at the photo, but is that really your photo? And just because it looks good sure as hell does not mean its worth getting to know...just chat a few times and you can usually figure out what its all about.Would you want to risk the chance on having some freak come looking for you because you posted your photo...its all about the game.....

Well in my opinion, there are very few people that will respond to a profile with no picture. I agree that one should not judge by physical attributes alone...if the person is not physically "appealing" in some way to the seeker, then logically the seeker will not respond with the initial contact. (Quite honestly the cartoonish outline is pretty disturbing, lol. How can you find a cartoon silhouette appealing?) So by not posting a picture of yourself, you are limiting the amount of responses that you will get. If you are content with that, great...but for me, the the experience was meant for me to meet people...even if they do recognize me on the street...that's one more person that this site allowed me to meet.

I have to agree that there is a DEFINITE REASON why they do not want
to be seen...I Believe that it is because they are married..I have replied
to a few with A REALITY CHECK about WHO they are hurting...NEVER
RESPOND BACK.
In my profile it says NO PICTURE=DELETE...with out Reading &
I still receive them...So depending on my mood, I can SLAM them BACK,.
Send a Wake up CALL(My reality check) or just delete them.
I do take into Consideration If they are NEW...
