first step:
{color=red}
second step:
{color=red}Text Text Text
third step:
{color=red}Text Text Text{/color}
...of course use [ and ] instead of { and }
Text Text Text
Fancy colors are a whole other lesson. Basically you just substitute a HTML color number for the word "red" or "blue" or "green", etc.
#CC0066 is this color:
Text Text Text
You'll need to go online for a search for an HTML color chart that gives color numbers (or names) -- save it to your desktop and pull it up when you need it:
#666633 = Text Text Text
#00FFFF = Text Text Text
#FF6600 = Text Text Text
Happy coloring!
(PS I don't know if it makes a difference spelling it "color" or "colour" )

The WC3 site and board of specifications for web design and HTML, XHTML, and XML can answer any and all questions anyone may have on format, coloring, etc. Sites like MD are limited in functionality to gold users and the parameters set by the server they are using. Many non typical HTML denotations won't work on all platforms. And then there is the browser compatibility issue...

When using the BB codes, hexadecimal colors do not require the # symbol to precede the color codes.
The following link will take you to a handy color chart that can be saved as an offline reference.

Cool...a shortcut ~grin~
I think we discovered that you have to do size/color/font for it all to work right...
{size=5}{b}{color=#6666FF}{font=french script mt}Earl's French Script code, size 5, color#6666FF, bold{/font}{/color}{/b}{/size}
Earl's French Script code, size 5, color#6666FF, bold

OK, you need to have code in front and behind the url. {/url} at the end, {url} in front of it (substiute square brackets for the curvey ones):
http://videos.matchdoctor.com/32531/Irish_Facts-Remix-Happy_St_Pat.html
makes the link clickable
