I was just kicked to a level of high amazement . . .while struggling through a stubborn under-caffeinated cranial fog I noticed there are red underlines . . .lots of them . . .under words I am trying to organize into some sense in the message window. A *right click* on the underline words indicates that a SPELLCHECKER is at work here!
Thanks, MD! I really appreciate this humanitarian gesture on your part . . .as my spelling abilities are abysmal. I just hope it works as well for all the other MD-ers as it does for me!

Thank goodness, I find myself re-reading every post checking and correcting spelling errors.
Thank you very much.............

Man, I can't imagine how many lines of code that would require.
I sometimes use MS Office Word, or Google but sometimes screw up on words or syntax when correcting my message responses.
A spell checker incorporated onto a webpage is a lot of work, I'm sure.
Btw have any of you people seen this website with a free language translator? I use it sometimes to talk to people overseas on the Yahoo messenger.

My conflatulations were a bit premature . . .I am now thinking the spellchecker is part of my new Firefox 2 install. I humbly apologize for misleading my fellow MDers . . .but, you can feel the freedom to spell abysmally too if you download and install Firefox 2.
Sometimes I am such a marroon, YMMV

I know you don't mean marroon -- you mean
~sigh~ I love it when you speak Italian
And yep, must be part of Firefox ~grin~ Have a ball with it!

I just keep a New Message open in Outlook Express, then cut and paste.
Easy as pie.

I have finally gotten around to reading the "what's new in Firefox 2" . . .and sure enough, it is Firefox that has come to my rescue once again. Up until now I have used the same approach as T I M . . .editing and spellchecking in another program and then pasting back into MD . . .
Now I don't have to! For those of you that have not tried Firefox, I recommend it now even more than before.
BTW . . .I still sing the praises of MD for providing us such a wonnerful place to meet . . .even if they have not yet been able to help us with our spelling challenges.
YMMV, always . . .etc, etc.

I tried Firefox for a while about a year or so ago. I decided to continue to use the Opera web browser. It had a spell check feature long before Firefox. I believe Opera was the first browser to offer tabbed windows too.
I still prefer to cut and paste the text into Outlook Express since I can enlarge the fonts for proofreading. The keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+X, C, V) make fast work of it. I like the larger workspace as well.

Darn! I came back here because I thought you were nekkid. Didn't the emperor run around with no clothes on? I'm VERY disappointed.
I admit, I'm not here for Spell Checking. I'm just "checking" out the men.

http://www.spellcheck.net/ This works pretty well, but you neet a second browser window open and it's not very "spontaneous"...I don't know if Web-TV supports the Firefox browser
