When you're viewing a profile, you will notice a new section at the top of the profile info called "Recent Activity". This shows what actions you have already taken with the user and what actions they have taken with you.
You will see several "faded" icons. When you perform an action with the user it will become colored in so you can tell you've performed that action with the user already. If you winked at them, the wink icon will be colored in, etc. If that user winked at you, then the wink icon under "they have:" will be colored in.
Some important notes:
1. This is only recent activity and will probably only be stored for last 30 days. So if you performed an action, it will only remember you've performed that action for 30 days, unless you do that action again within the 30 days.
2. We haven't loaded previous history in, so "Recent Activity" starts today. This means if you winked at someone yesterday, it won't show that you winked at them already.
3. IM history isn't tracking yet, should be working tomorrow.
Future Plans
We're also working on a "management" screen where you can review your recent history with all users you have interacted with. This will help you keep track of who you've winked at, mailed, etc. and see when they have replied to you, etc. This has been a feature you guys have been asking for, for a long time. It's almost here!
As always, post any questions or bugs you find! Enjoy another great free feature from Matchdoctor.com!

IM history is now tracking. If you IM someone, or someone IMs you, it will display under "Recent History" on their profile.

Kudos to MatchDoctor for this Masterpiece!!!
May I Commend you and your Crew for exceeding the "Call of Duty" for this Creative and Simple feature esp. those invisible Techies working in the backgroud
I was wondering - this new feature of "Recent Activity" shown as faded icons within profiles - can this be PORTED to the Normal or Gallery View under the Search Command without opening a member's profile?
I APPRECIATE your time and effort in posting an update in the thread about 'Keeping Track of Profiles Read.'
All My Best,
Artemis

Why is the matchdoctor Avatar a piece of sushi? What does sushi have to do with singles? Do we have to eat sushi, when we go out with a person we met from Matchdoctor? I don't like sushi, that's going to be literally a tough one to swallow. Does matchdoctor wish that he/she was a piece of sushi? Then what could that mean? It sounds like matchdoctor has some "issues"

If you winked at them, the wink icon will be colored in, etc. When reading someone's profile, is the "faded" icon for Profile Viewed independent of the choices we make in SETTINGS for profile view tracking??

I liked it too Lacy. I hope they are just doing some kind of maintenance on it and plan on bringing it back soon.

We sadly regret that this feature has been removed from the site for the time being and we do not know if/when we will be brining it back.

Well I really depended on it. I could see if a guy had really opened up my profile after rambling on and on about how we were meant for each other in a email to me, and he hadn't even read my profile.

Yep...it really helps to see if someone actually looked at your profile and are not scammers. I hope they can bring them back.

How can they send you a message without looking at your profile? From the "who's online list? Doesn't that still bring you to their profile in order to message?

I've always wondered that too Pali, but I get lots of email where it shows they haven't viewed my profile as well as winks. I've never used the "whose online" list so I don't know how that works.

It NEVER shows that I've looked at someones profile. I have my tracking turned OFF.

I'm not sure how that works either. But I have received several scammer emails that talk about how they really enjoyed reading my profile, just to look at theirs and see that they had not even viewed my profile at all. That was pretty much the determining factor as to whether I clicked on the "report spam" button or not.
That and the fact that they want you to respond to a yahoo or other email account.

Hmmm.....like Sunny said, their tracking was probably turned off. That works for gold members in the "who's viewed me file" and I imagine was the same for "recent activity" on your profile page. So really...there was no point to it.

That could be true, but it seems to me that if someone really was trying to set up a scam they would want it to look as legitimate as they could...and show that they had at least looked at your profile. Hmmm...I dunno.

I'm confused. Can only a gold member turn off their tracking or can anybody?
