Just don't let the rude ones drag you down  Mean people suck, but think of how much effort it takes to be angry all the time! It's so much easier to be nice, and happy, and upbeat...smile and the world smiles with you  It's also better for your health

I go out of my way to be extra polite, overly friendly and down right give-'em-a-cavity sweet to rude people.
You get more with sugar than you do with salt.
And of that doesnt work, then as I walk away, I tell them in a clear and polite tone of voice that "Oops, I was meaning to tell you...you have a very large boogie hanging out of your nose. You may want to do something about it - I think others may have already noticed"
This always works the best with catty women in a public place,
