All I seem to get are spam emails from scammers in Russia, China and the Phillipines or XXX spam ads. Ugh!

Yes, there are real women on this site to date. You may have to search for that special one like finding that needle in a hay stack. But yes there is.

In the year or 2 I have been in here, I have met 4. I really haven't looked to hard, seems there are not many near by...most are far away.
Of them one was pretty screwy, we had a nice date and all but she got really weird while we were planning a 2nd date so I said forget it lol.
The others?
Very, very nice.....just no sparks, it was mutual.. There are real people in here, just like you!
But I fear, there are lots of wackos.......good luck!

Well join the club. I seem to get the same thing....those either looking for a sugar daddy, a green card or both. I have met 3 women on here for lunch who looked nothing like their photos. I could have actually swore that one woman sent her mother in to check me out first. Her photo must have been at least 15 years old. I don't ever expect much in here. Best of luck to you.

^^^ That's funny because I run into the same problems with men - photos are old or don't look like them at all.
Yes there are some real people. My experiences are much like Wouldntitbegr8ts - a few dates, a few chats on IM, nice but no sparks. Although that may change soon.

I have come to the realization that online dating is a losing proposition for most guys who are normal like myself as there are 10-20x guys for each woman online.
Makes it tough to compete for so few resources. Anyways, its fun to chat but I am not counting on these dating sites to bring Miss Right into my life. If it happens thats fine but I think meeting women in real life is better than online dating. Seems like the last few women that I met from online dating sites were 50 pounds heavier than their 10 year old photos :-(

The thing is, there are so many good people in here!
Then there is the distance thing...how come the good ones are so far away.
But I suppose those could be pics of their grandkids, not them 
The women I did meet were just like their pics, I didn't have to deal with that - - - asking them "what the?" You don't look like your pic at all!!"
And that could be tacky, it isn't about looks, but hey - - - starting off with a lie is not a good sign 
And it is hard for men....we, as in real life, have to approach the women first usually......what the heck, do ya say? You women have been hit on by 100s of guys, what the heck can I say to stand out??

The numbers aren't much better sitting at a bar - at least the restaurant bars I am willing to go to once in a while...
Here I have met 3 in person, 1 exceeded my expectations and 2 didn't match them

Pssst! Hey, Pal. There are filter settings that you can enable so you will NOT receive messages from overseas women.
I'm going to put my Technical Support skills to use just for you!
-Click on HOME
-Then SETTINGS.
-Go to MAIL SETTINGS & FILTER
-In this section, "check all of the areas that you want to receive mail from."

Not too many people meet in the LA area. I've been on and off this site since about 2003 and only actually met one person. Distance seems to be a problem (a lot of people from other states answer) and the locals send a message or two and it ends there. There's better ways to meet people in large cities, I think. That's just my opinion. I thought I'd try the forums this time and see who I might find  .

i understand what everybody is saying,,,,i get alot of scrammers on here too...  the funny thing is,,i am real,,,  i have meant some men on here,they say i look like my picture,,,wether its good or bad,,,, but i wish u all good luck in your seach,hope u find what u looking for~~~

I had some chick I talked to for like two years, she was from wales, 5000 miles away. Last weekend she was at my 4th of July party. So blocking foreign contacts, well, maybe don't be so quick.

Hmm 2 years might be a bit much for just one date. That and I hope you didn't end up paying for their ticket. It's sad to hear how much this site is being overrun with scammers.
