Bonnie...I'm going to be in the bay area August 30 - September 1st. I'm going to the American Idol concert in San Jose on the 30th and then a Josh Gracin concert on the 1st. I'm staying with friends (Haban and Katt) in that area, so you'll have to give me your number. Us girls can go and do something on the 31st maybe? :)
I loved the show last night and am very happy for Taylor. I loved it that Clay Aiken was there...and of course Chris!

Simon has a show out called "So You Think You Can Dance". I caught the last 1/2 hour of it and it looks like something I could get addicted to. Darnit! I'm looking forward to "Hell's Kitchen" next month. I watched it last year and it was pretty good.

You live in California when...
1. You make over $250,000 and you still can't afford to buy a house.
2. The high school quarterback calls a time-out to answer his cell phone.
3. The fastest part of your commute is going down your driveway.
4. You know how to eat an artichoke.
5. You drive your rented Mercedes to your neighborhood block party.
6. When someone asks you how far something is, you tell them how long it will take to get there rather than how many miles away it is.

Haha!
I've just come back to see this post after 3 months! Anyway, i have heard about how expensive it is to live in California but it'd still be worth it.
My friends in US say that they'd love to come to London but i guess this is why they say "Grass is greener on the other side".
I just think that if i live in a climate same as California i could do so much with my life... we've been having a heatwave here in London almost all of July which has made a sheer P.L.E.A.S.U.R.E to live in... you can have such a better social and healthier life!
Plus it mean i could play tennis everday! (my fav sport!)

Well, how's this ? I hate California and I live here. Man don't believe everything you see on TV, if you live in London and don't like it then we can exchange if you want. Send me a ticket to move there and I'll send you a ticket to move to California.
Thanks to God I wont be living in this fake state anymore in 2007

I love living in California, too. Yes, it is expensive (though probably no more expensive than London-I visited that great city in 2000), but it is expensive here because it is worth it. I am a non-native, so maybe you can appreciate California the most if you have lived somewhere else first.

I'm a born and raised Californian. I would like to know what it's like to live somewhere else....perhaps the Sedona or Flagstaff area or Oregon. Notice I don't go any further east.....been there and hate the humidity! lol

"Been there and hate the humidity"... Then you DO know what it is like to live in the Midwest, for example. (-:
If I were to attempt to describe living outside California, it might go like this:
-People are less friendly to strangers, generally. -Everything is less expensive (and I do mean everything). -Things "get done" where we in California seem to just argue and complain about changes and projects forever. -Most places are much less "multicultural" than here; you will seldom find the casual and easy mixing of races, lifestyles, and tastes that Californians take for granted.
What else did I miss about California versus "the rest of the country"?
