Is it me, or are we getting more mail-order-bride spams?

In the past 2 days, I've received 2 Out-of-state inquiries to to my email here, and both were worded like something out of the Russian Republic, yet, with two different general locations (one in Phoenix, AZ. the other, NYC, NY.) 2 different handles, but both to "@Yahoo.com"...
Have the spammers decided it's open season again?
Report abuse! Take back the net from the slime spreading SPAM!

LOL! Not likely, Beefaroni..
No, the text of their message sounds like a Soviet Republic dialect when you read it. (me is to you a good wife <--< as example.) but usually ends-up wanting you to contact them via Yahoo messenger, Etc.
they give an email address right up front, which makes me believe it to be computer generated.
Just got 3rd today.. so there does seem to be a rash of them...

I don't know, man. Mail order brides sound less and less illogical to me. My luck's been so bad that even the spammers don't write me.
Sigh.

It might help some to reset your mail settings to exclude the countries you'd rather not hear from..

There are a ton of them out there! Yup with yahoo IMing. Posting in the states and when chatting finding out, after all they are in W Africa or someplace. Guys We need to report this stuff! Its a waste of time! I know I'm not the only one to hit this stuff. We need them off this site!

The thing is, Even if you set it for countries you don't want to hear from, The spammers simply change their faked address, to another country.. Problem returns.
I think I nailed it on the head, the answer to AOL's old slogan, of "Life Needs Filters".
Yes, so do back-yard pools, but eventually the filter stops working, and usually gets bypassed if it gets clogged with too much garbage.    
The server may run a little faster over the net, but in reality, every time it needs to go and check that filter for a name, It's basicly wasting time that could be better used processing information.. Unfortunately, it's too busy trying to figure if a message can pass, or be blocked.
