Television and I have been hanging out quite a bit the last few weeks and I have reached the point where certain commercials just grate at me like fingernails on the chalkboard.

The Cymbalta commercial ( anti-depression medicine)"Where does depression hurt" "Who does depression hurt" I have news for the cymbalta folks your commercial makes me depressed .. please no more.

Another one that I find annoying is a Verizon commercial that has simply been played way to often. A lady named Susan runs into a former BF who questions why she has not returned his calls. She lies and blames it on her cell being so unreliable. He tells her to switch so they can re-connect. He buys the story and her Verizon network comes out from hiding and she thanks them for helping in her lie. That dang commercial makes me reach for the remote.

Do you have any commercials that you wish would go away???????

I saw this commercial once that kinda blew my mind away, it was for this show on the sci fi channel, it was about freeze drying your dog while you go on vacation, I was like wtf is this I am watching? Ok me beinging a vet tech, I was floored becuase I had no idea that it was for this weird show on that sci fi station... Not that I watch it, gee maybe if I did I might have understood it... So I have to say those commercials are by far the weirdest ones I have ever seen....

Any commercial they play too often will get on my nerves. They put too many commercials on, to begin with. That's one reason I don't watch TV too much anymore. Seems like you spend more time watching commercials than the actual show. Sitcoms are the worst; I would guess that one-third of a typical thirty-minute show is spent watching nothing but commercial breaks. No fun at all.

And people make a big deal over pop-up ads on the Internet??? At least all you have to do is click on the "x" at the top and it's gone Don't need no DVR to do that, either. Woohoo! I love how easy that is!

P.S.A blog entry I just posted reminded me of a very annoying commercial that comes on all the time in my area. Anyone ever heard of Mattress Giant? Most of you are from Florida, so maybe you have? Well, in their commercials, they're always telling you to call a certain number with the word "Mattress" in it, but of course you know phone numbers only have seven digits in them, so at the end they always say "and leave off the last 's' for savings". I see that commercial so much that I hear it in my dreams

I hear the Matress Giant one all the time on the radio....as soon as it comes on I change the station.

The TV ones that drive me nuts are the Kotex and the ones for Male issues. Could they be any more annoying, expecially the Kotex ones.

Now, I did see one yesterday for a car maker that at least part of it was funny. The guys were all talking about the little blue pill and making fun of it and the commercials for it. Of course they got in an accident and the car maker goes on about how wonderful the car is....but leading up to that point it was kind of funny.

Another one that makes me cringe are the ones for Appliance Direct. You can only take so much of the owner and commercial spokesperson acting terribly and waving his arms in the air. He use to have his daughter in the commercials too years ago, she was equally annoying, now there is some lady in a green dress , who was obviously born with the same genetic makeup for annoyance. Their catch phrase. " If you didnt buy from Appliance Direct you paid too much" " Same day delivery"

Well speaking of a commercial star who is very annoying, we have this tire place down here called "Tire Kingdom". The owner of the place used to star in his own commercials. He used to sing, and dance - and he had this voice that sounded just obnoxious. I bet he got people's attention alright! But probably not the kind he was looking for, because eventually I guess they decided to cut him out of the commercials. Maybe some business think that if they annoy you enough, you'll just go out and buy their product? Funny thing is, we went there one time a long time ago, and the service was aweful so we left and went somewhere else. I don't know, maybe Mr. Tire Kingdom Guy actually believed he had talent???

Cool new pic Fuchia. Most business would do themselves a service if they at least hired a professional actor to do their advertising.

They used to run this Checkers drive in ad with a cardboard cutout version of Ricky Booby the race car driver ,recomending you to go to the left side over the right side drive in ,i used to hate that one.
Now they have the "Rap Cat" ad ,also Checkers,he sings a rap ,and this is why you should go to the left side over the right side, now this one I like ,I cant help but laugh everytime I see it.

P.S.
When I get fed up with to many ads I turn it to PBS,they dont have any.

The Checkers left side, right side drive through commercials are getting a bit of overkill lately. The Rap cat was kinda of funny.

There is a commercial I think its for Saturn. Two boys are playing goldfish inside a car. Dad comes along and tells the boys that the tree house he is building is finally ready. the boys prefer the amenities that the car offers , like the DVD player nd the leather seats. So they chose to play in there instead. Dad closes the door and leaves the boy inside..... that commercial bothers me from a safety point of view. Children die after being left in a hot locked car. I do not like the message this gives to kids. I know they are selling the merit of the features of the car, but foolhardy advertising on their part. Every time I see it , it upsets me.

I have to agree with you about that ad.
It bugs me too,it just encourages spoiled behaviour in children ,I mean that father spent 4 weekends building that tree house for those kids and they are like whatever.

Doublemint Gum commercials with their annoying twins and equally annoying jingle that goes with it. I think all twins should rebel for making them appear so dorky.

These Dr. Z ads. They're all over the place. . What's the deal? I don't even remember what vehicle he pitches. I just know it's extremely annoying no matter how many JD Power awards he shows me.

the CitiBank Identity Theft commercials, but the Darrel P. incarnation is terrible You know the one...the dude in the wifebeater talks in the high-pitched voice of a teenage girl before breaking into a awful rendition of Toni Braxton's Unbreak My Heart that makes fingernails on a chalkboard sound like Mozart.

The worst maybe is the one for that headache remedy Heads on...Head On, apply directly to the forehead, Head On, appy directly to the forehead.
Head On, appy directly to the forehead, Head On, apply directly to the forehead. We get it already.. how many times do you have to repeat that line?

That FMU one is definetly pitiful. Middleton Pest control has just started a new ad campaign they are kinda funny at the moment , but I some how hae a feeling they are going to be quite annoying in time.

Heres the scenario... Green frog sits on a shelf with a termite. Below them on a stove is a pot of bouling water. The frog is trying to convince the termite that the pot is a swimming pool. he even offers him some swimming trunks. He slowly gets the termite out on the diving board ( a butter knife) and soon the termite plummets to his demise.
