I believe the games you are talking about are when people just cant say whats on their mind and leave you guessing as to what is really going on. Some people play games out of fear of getting to close to someone. They can play hard to get to create a safety net for themselves.Some people allow themselves to get close really fast and then withdraw from that person. Some people simply enjoy the chase itself and are getting satisfaction from that. Some people feel threatened in their relationship and thats when the games begin.Game playing is for kids and should have been left on the playground.Teasing, acting out, and sulking for attention still happens quite frequently in many relationships and dating situations. The sad part is that, if this behavior goes on too long, it can have a strong negative effect on a relationship. If you want to have a mature and serious relationship, you both need to stop playing games and start acting like adults. Why dont you be the adult in this situation and get the communication going.

what i'm speaking about is when you have plans with someone and they fake a call and say my grandmother is goin to the hospital . when ask if they just dont like ya they say all your great.

I know what you're talking about bigbearone. I had a similar thing happen to me about a month and a half ago. A lady I once knew came to spend the night at my house, and she just picked up and left and then made up some excuse that her friend was in a car accident and she didn't want to wake me. It was obvious she was lying because for one thing, I wouldn't have minded being woken up. And for another, if she really thought that, she could've left a note on the table - but she didn't.
You could argue she was in a rush to leave, but considering it was a four - five hour drive back, she couldn't even take thirty seconds to write me a note??? I think she just decided she wanted to leave and then made up that excuse as an after thought - like after she read my blog about the whole thing. That's okay, cause I told her not to contact me again. 
And maybe it was for the better, cause I have since met a much nicer lady with whom I have much more in common with, and with whom I relate to much more. 
I don't think anyone likes these kind of games, so I don't know why some people play them

Some people simply find lying easier then telling the truth. Went on a date once with a man who used the famous family member is sick excuse one too many times.
1.date was planned , he called to say he had to work late, date cancelled
2. date was planned , he cancelled said his mom was rushed to the hospital with heart trouble.
3. Date was planned , he was 90 minutes late made up some crazy story as to why, he couldent call because his cell phone was dead, when he got there he said he forgot his wallet, hour into the date he got a call ( on his dead cell phone) , he had to leave because his Dad was having chest pains.
4. He called to ask to see me again, I said no thank you.

It is amazing, how when a certain person is on a date, all of their family members suddenly get so sickly and their friends start having all these "accidents".  I mean, talk about being ginxed. If I were any friend or relative of this person, I'd be very fearful for my life everytime this person went on a date with someone 
There seems to be this new thing with people having their friends bail them out by cell phone, with some lame excuse, if they don't like how the date's turning out. I've even seen one of the characters do this in a reality TV show called The Real World.
The lady met this guy on a subway for a date, and after talking with him for about ten minutes decided she didn't like the guy because he was too liberal, so she secretly sent a code to her friends, which was actually a signal to have them call her cellphone and bail her out with a fake emergency. 
I hate to use stuff from TV as an example, even if it's a reality TV show, but it just goes to show how pervasive this behavior is.

Games??? I vote for strip poker with Dove in the library!! Loser has to be the love slave of the winner for a day or week. depending on what the winner wants and how long he or she wants a love slave.

I can tell you how to cut down on the games people play..first of all post a new picture so they wont contact you if they dont like your looks to begin with, then make sure
you dont fib too much in the age and weight department..

Even with a current picture and a real profile, some people still play games. I am prefectly honest in my profile and still have run into the same issue as Dove. I honestly think some people perfer to play games then to have a real relationship. I know one guy I dated for awhile was like that...all of a sudden he wanted to be friends after he opened up about how he felt about us a week earlier. Honestly it put a major dent in the relationship that in the long run ruined things.

The truth is that its human nature to tell a lie now and then.There are those little white lies concocted to protect someones feelings.Then you have the individuals who seems to feel compelled to lie about everything.Game players gets worse with the passage of time. When you get away with a lie it often drives you to continue your deceptions. When a person lies, they have broken a bond – an unspoken agreement to treat others as we would like to be treated.
People that play games will have it catch up to them eventually.If they lie all the time, even about unimportant things, they are likely to have a problem that will eventually -- if it hasn’t already -- break down any chance of a real relationship with anyone.

Hey Dove....did you date the same guy I did? I had exactly the same thing happen to me a while back, only a couple of those times he had to go babysit his grandkids at the last minute. .....Don't understand why he just couln't be honest and just say he had a date with someone else. Guess he has been playing games so long that he doesn't know how to be honest and up front. ....Blondiblue

men will do anything to avoid a confrontation,(like when they say they will call and they dont, when they are late, when they change their mind or want to see someone else)women usually lie to get rid of some dude they cant stand..and too avoid being stalked and harassed..

hey you just never know, its entirely possible.
The odd thing about that guy was he was pushing me to meet him for the longest time, and then came up with excuse after excuse once I said yes. Go figure.
mimosa13 If there was a man that was not compatible with me , I would tell him how I felt and would hope he would do the same for me. I would rather hear the truth then some contrived tale. If a man is going to harass or stalk you he will do it no matter what you say.

I have no issue at all telling someone I'm not interested or I don't feel the relationship is going to work. There is only one guy I dated that is still trying to get me to give him another chance, but he has since been blocked on my phone and emails. I believe in being as honest as I can without hurting someone, but I also expect the same in return.

Honesty is always the best route to go. When somone lies their body language will give them away. Which could be why its easier to tell these tales over the phone rather then face to face.

yep, I like the honesty... I thought all went well with the lady I met from here last week, we were supposed to do something on Sat, talked some during the week..
and I got an email Fri night
just got home, cant go in the morning....
I sent 2 emails, one asking if she was alright...2nd was ????? what happened..
and not even a reply.....oh well, I guess I can't read folks like I thought I could..
