This might sound strange but I even thaw my ground meat in the microwave sometimes. Anyone else ever tried that?

I do that all the time Fuchia. I never remember to take it out to thaw, and that microwave does the trick.

That's my problem too - I never remember to take the ground meat out so it can thaw.

The only problem I have with using the microwave to thaw things, is it tends to cook parts of it too....kind of messes up chicken dishes. If I am just browning the ground meat, I do that on the stove even if it is frozen.

Let's all remember the 5 p's. Proper planning prevents poor performance. Put your frozen meat in the refrigerator to thaw the day before you want to cook it. Meats should be repackaged in single serving sizes before freezing.

Dove, I'll cook for you anytime but I don't think you can afford me as your personal chef. It would be cheaper just to marry me.
