WESH TV is running a special newscast on Danny Rolling. This is just the kind of attention this beast was looking for when he committed his horrific crimes. I believe that they (WESH) shouldn't mention any more then the time of his well deserved death. What do you think?

I think you are seeing so much about him because his number is up tomorrow. He tried to get a stay and that was denied. Firing squad would be a lot better for him. Or better yet, tie him up naked over a fire ant hill...pour honey on him and let him get bitten until he slowly and painfully dies.

Yes Witchie that is even better. So he is going to be done in tomorrow huh, well it is about time, I think this allowing them to hang around this long is some BS. He killed those people back in 90, why does it take 16yrs before they kill them? Makes no sense to me....

It takes so long due to the appeals process. You also have the ongoing debate whether the three-drug cocktail used to put inmates to death is unconstitutionally cruel. The system is rather dysfunctional , but I guess its necessary to make sure an innocent man or woman is not put to death. I do not think there will be few tears shed for Danny Rolling.

The question is about media coverage of this scum not how long it takes to execute him or how it should be done. I think we all agree he's getting what he deserves. I question the media giving him so much air time. Think of the victims families seeing that smug SOB singing the blues in 30 second sound bites.

I agree 100% that the media goes overboard. To the media, it is about numbers. They don't care about peoples feelings, they just care about how many people the can pull in to watch them. Think about years ago when you didn't have very graphic pictures on the news, now they seem to have to show you every bit of blood and gore that they can. It is one of the reasons I don't watch the news on TV. I will read it online and view the pictures if I choose. Some people want to see all that and follow every story to the end. I personally don't want to see a dead child being carried by their parent because of a bombing.
In this case I feel the media is being very insensitive to the families. I know I wouldn't want to hear about it every time you turn around. In the St. Pete Times there is an article from one of the parents, but I didn't read it, I skipped over it.

The sad part of it is this is what most people want to see, this is why the news reports it, I think until we take a stand about it, it will never change. It isn't news worthy unless there is blood and gore for some odd reason.

Look at John Couey....hasn't even got a jury picked yet and his child victim has been gone for almost 2 years....not even a trial place or time yet....what is wrong with the Florida justice system? We as taxpayers are footing the bill to support him and others like him while our justice system sits with their thumb up their butt and do nothing. This would be a great subject to tackle for the politicians that have their signs all along the roadsides (messing up the beautiful view) wanting our votes. I would consider voting for someone who would tackle our court system and take care of the mess it is in.

Reply Thats 16 years of media exposure to create his place in history and be a so called legend of one of the most well know serial killers of that decade. The problem is this is the shortest and most guaranteed way to fame and that your name will live on in history after you are gone.
I think the media has a responsiblity to not perpetuate his deeds and his image out there that inevitability feed his narcissistic desire for notoriety.. If the media cant regulate this then the STATE needs to limit and specify how much media exposure he recieves ,since he is a ward of the STATE,it would be within reason for them to mandate this.
No more rockstar like fame for these lower dwelling bottom feeders.

Throughout time we have had a morbid fascination with Serial Killers. They are immortalized through literature, theatre, movies and television. There are televison stations that produce documentarys about these notourius killers. An entire nation was glued to their televisions during the OJ Trial. Of course the news stations are going to capitalize on our fascination.
October is sweeps month Nielsen Media Research collects demographic information from sample homes all over the country. This viewing information is used by local television stations, cable systems, advertisers and their agencies to buy and sell commercial advertising as well as make programming decisions. If Wesh wants good ratings they want to spice things up. Danny Rollings is their attempt to stir things up.
Is it wrong.. yes, absolutely. He is an animal. Pagan did Wesh respond to your Email?

I had a friend that was a book editor in St pete. He had to read the book that was written by Dannys wife. She met him and married him after he was convicted and in prison and had admitted to the murders. Im thinking what kind of women would marry a guy that is a self admitted murderer. Anyway my friend said he was having a hard time reading the book. He mentioned in the book where he said danny killed this guy by cutting his head off ,then stuck his head on a pole facing his body knowing that his head would be alive long enough to realize he was looking at his body. He was a sick puppy.

I am going to have night mares after that Ken. I cant imagine why anyone could have the capicity to love a serial killer. My guess would be they too are desperately seeking attention in a very perverse way.
