Franco Zefferelli's Romeo and Juliet... love the story , turned me on to shakespeare and I adore Leonard Whiting
Disneys Pollyanna... I yearned to be just like her... I still like playing the Glad Game
Sleepless in Seattle... I am an incurable romantic
You've got mail.... for obvious reasons
Finding Neverland... I was absolutely charmed by the story.. and I love Peter Pan
Rocky Horror picture show...It would not be cool to not love this film
The Wizard of Oz......Childhood classic
The Lake House.... clever and original and of course so romantic
The King and I... I love the music, the story
The Sound of music..... sheer joy and timeless wonder.
Dirty Dancing... I fell in love with Patrick Swayze.. " no one puts baby in the corner" Kellermans reminded me of my summer vacations in upstate NY.

I know this is off topic but I noticed the chili peppers on this and the party thread but not on some others that have more posts so is it that the most activity in a short time is what makes it "hot" ??? inquiring minds wanna know

Some of the people here named some great movies, especially Kenn159 I think. I think I could separate some of the ancient classics from the new "goodies" and design two lists. They are probably a little out of order.
Here are many of what I consider to be the best movies of all time:
Vertigo (Hitchcock) Apocalypse Now (Coppola) Ran (Kurosawa) The Wild Bunch (Peckinpah) Women in Love (Ken Russell) City Lights (Chaplin) Magnolia (P.T. Anderson) Goodfellas (Scorsese) City of God (Meirelles) Cries and Whispers (Bergman) Schindler's List (Spielberg) Wings of Desire (Wenders) Doctor Zhivago (David Lean) Mulholland Drive (Lynch)
Here are some very recent films in which I either felt greatness or really liked a lot:
The Aviator (Scorsese) A History of Violence (Cronenberg) Match Point (Allen) Broken Flowers (Jarmusch) Fahrenheit 9/11 (Michael Moore) Good Night, and Good Luck (Clooney) The Cinderella Man (Ron Howard) Syriana (Gaghan) The Dreamers (Bertolucci) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Gondry) Kinsey (Bill Condon) Collateral (Michael Mann) Kingdom of Heaven: Director's Cut (Ridley Scott) Hero (Zhang Yimou)

Dear Heart is my fav romantic one..the theme song was a radio hit also.
Came out in the early 60s. It is not on DVD only VHS tape though
AMC cable shows it sometimes
The ending at the old PA Train Station is such a tear jerker...happy tears
It probably is the best romantic movie ever to combine love with innocence along with passion....it truly is a gem of a film. Well worth any effot to get the VHS tape to see it.
The ending sequence was the last filmage ever filmed at the old PA Sation in New York before it was torn down to make Madison Square Garden and the new PA Station.
