I have read and heard woman complaining about the quality of men that are availabe but I am here to tell you that either I am attracting every ax welding sicko with more bagage than American air lines or I have just lost my mind...I quit drinking in 2001 and ever since then ether my standards have gone up or the quality of avaiable ladies has declined... I mean like WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY wacked... A friend of mine has had the same problem but he flew over to Odessa and married a lady over there and brought her home... they seem to be happy and she is just a wonderful lady and very pretty too... Is this what a guy has to do to find a woman now days or what?

Try spending some time in the lobby chat room and meet some new people Magic!
Until this stupid server 'froze' MD's chat room access for me I made many friends in the chat room Lobby. (Rainybow, Merryberry, Romanticmale, Sassytallredhead, Swtldybkr and Articcatmom to name a few.)
Just be yourself and dont take any advice given by the regulars as a put down (they are trying to help you NOT get booted out of the chat room) . Return there daily and soon you will be making friends with the regulars. And then MAYBE you might find a lady who is around your age that is not married and wacked to start a possible relationship with!

Trust me it is not only the women that are nut jobs...I seem to be a magnet for the male version of them...lol
Outlaws advice was good though. Just give it time, be yourself and sooner or later you might meet Miss Right, instead of Miss Nutcase.

Magic I read your profile and you do seem like a good man. You have a son that matters to you , and you appear to be a caring soul,, you did start a blog about the victims of last weeks Tornados. I have discovered an interesting dynamic and Im sure Witchie and Outlaw can attest to it too. Good people are simply easy targets for the bad guys and women. They come crawling out from under the rocks and seem to find us. We tend to trust morem have more faith in the goodness of people, we treat others with respect. On the flip side you have the Whack jobs as you called them. They treat people like garbage, do not care who and how they hurt, but yet they are the ones with folks lining up to meet them. For some reason a good woman and a good man getting together happens less.
Congratulations on your sobriety by the way, keep up the great work.

I'm 34 no kids.It seems to that all the good women that have no baggage are taken!The women I find that are between the ages of 24-38 usually all have children.If they do not theres a good chance something is very wrong,like their crazy as a run over dog,fat,or just plain ugly.I think my problem is I waited too long to settle down.  .Look for women in the Philippines.Most of the women there do not have kids!  If there are some single women out there that is long to get married and doesn't have kids,show yourself!

I agree with Dove, Magic..I don't see anything wrong with your profile at all. You seem like a very warm and caring person. No one could doubt how much your son means to you.
Yes, there are some people that are whacked, but there are a lot of nice people here. I have met some both male and female, that I wouldn't trade the friendships for the world. Like anything in life, there is always going to be good and bad people, how you live your life is what really matters. Given time you will find the right one for you, in the mean time enjoy the ride and make some wonderful friends!!

I feel the same way about women My age having more baggage than Samsonite,as well as "not firing on all 8 cylinders".Best wishes to Your friend Who found His Wife in Odessa! I went to Penza (Russia) in 2004 and experienced the difference between Russian women and American women.I hope to return to Penza in 2008.I have not found anyone here in Florida that did not have the problems that You have described.Good Luck!

Geography! Language perhaps , use to waiting in long lines( they would make the perfect theme park guest)
Ahh there is Russian blood flowing through my veins. My Grandma immigrated from Russia when she was a young girl. My grandma was awesome.

I would be very leery of finding a wife this way....
A true tale.
In 2003 a friend of mine sought this route. He met a lovely russian lady on line. They chatted for a long time, shared phone calls and eventually he flew to Russia to meet her. After meeting her and her family he was even more determined to bring her back to the United States. He started the immigration process for her. The expense and burden of proof that this was indeed going to be a marriage of good faith fell on him. He flew back to Russia two more times and took lots of photos of them together and on his third trip there he married her. It took nearly two years but at last he brought his bride and her two children to the USA. I met her a few months after she arrived. She would smile all the time but if you looked at her eyes you could see she was not really happy. After being together for eight months he came from work and found all of her belongings packed and gone. She left a note." I go home." Well she never did go home, just went to live with another man that had more money and had not spent his entire life savings on getting her here. She managed to stay in this country because she claimed that her husband was abusive to her. In retrospect he now knows he was conned by her. She just wanted to come to America , and he was an easy mark. Be very careful!!!!!!

To begin to answer You question Kenn159,I will start by saying that in every situation there will be someone to always point out the bad aspects.Yes it is easy to get scammed by a Russian women,but keep in mind that that can happen by an American women as well but we don't title them as scammers..Keep in mind that there is good and bad in all nationalities.
I was impressed by the way that the women I met dressed classy (not trashy) and were more feminie (did I spell that right?) and put a very high emphasis on family and marriage.Russian Women respect men as the head of the family,not the way it is done here.Even the idiots that don't deserve respect still get it.Most Russian women will not divorce except in situations of abuse or an alcoholic husband who does not support his family.
There are many differences between the 2 cultures that I could not list at one time.There is also the problem of Russian women with the sole intention of scamming someone for money and citizenship.There are guidelines to go by to protect Yourself.The citizenship part has become more difficult in the past few years.Also keep in mind that in any marriage there is a percentage of failure in ones that are of the same culture.Try to imagine how it would be to move to another country,adjusting to new world and a new marriage.The term "mail order bride" is some what outdated.Current immigration laws require the potential husband to visit the potential wife in Russia,return to the US and begin the K-1 Visa process within 2 years.The process is expensive and can be frustrating.
Even though My engagement to a Russian women did not work out,I still regard My experience in Penza as one of the best times in My life.To this day We still keep in touch.

Well, let me share my experience with Russian women, as I have had the same experience with American women. All the good ones are taken, the rest have more baggage than a van lines could move!!
I have been communicating with a few Russian women, and they are real, there are alot of sites to help find out about them, and investigators that live in Russia, which are not that expensive. Here is one of the sites I used and it is highly recommended http://www.agencyscams.com/index.html
I have met a few scammers but most have been pretty decent and they are who they say they are. Just google russian women and youll see alot of sites out there. I met one a fewmonths ago that was here on vacation. We hit it off, although she is alot younger she was alot more mature than most. I may take a trip over there just to see, I have heard both sides of the coin.
I have tried all the american routes, even church functions, still draw out the worst in the female crowds. I am 53 and I am not looking, I am still myself, and wont settle for less. Age has nothing to do with it. Just venues. Remember the women outnumber the men 2-1 in the US. Just finding 1 is not an easy task. Dont change and dont sette..

I just have to comment..exnewyorker.. lets see what is important to you is a woman that still views man his man as the head of household.. and even if you do not deserve it you will get it anyway. You want a woman who will not divorce you and remain miserable in a marriage.. unless you are a raging alchoholic , or a wife batterer she is going to stay no matter what. You and riskman want a women that has no baggage... there is not a living soul that does not have baggage...we have lived and therefore we have a past.. perhaps you need to look for your future wife in a psychiatric hospital that has been a amnesia victim that has no past memories.. Are you saying that Russian women have never expereinced life and have no past expereinces?, or maybe they have repressed memories that will surface one day when they get tired of kow-towing to a over bearing husband.

The first thing that comes to mind when I see someone say all the oposite sex is bad/wacked/dogs/creeps/whatever ,is that they likely have social skill issues and are indenial about their own role in these battles with the oposite sex.
If you have dated all these american women you mentioned and you think they are all wacked out ,I would look at the math,either they are all wacked and you are the only sane one ,or more than likely, if you are having a problem with that many women ,maybe its time to look within, maybe you are the problem,and from some of your statements I can see why.
