He went to the Philipines. married her and a little over a year later, brought her home. She used his money to put herself through school and doing her best to talk him into putting her name on the deed to his 100+ acres. As soon as she got her degree, she left him high and dry and tried to soak him in court.
I have also heard several stories of brides and grooms coming out of Africa which very abusive results once they arrive here. Good luck.
Like I always said, once they get that Green Card and has established themselves as a american citizen via marriage. They will dump the person in a heartbeat and try to take them to the cleaners at the same time!

about the whole phillippines/russian, etc bride thing...here's my take...
the male from the U.S. who goes looking at this option is so very desperate or lacks social skills to a point they look at this as a viable option...but don't start to even try and tell me that their motives are to "find lasting love"...the U.S. male is setting out to find someone he might control, or can exploit, and get it the easy way as they are seen as rescuing this poor soul from a less than lavish life in their own country. the male is also thinking the foreign female might somehow be less intelligent and simply worship them for being rescued...so of course the ma gets a made who has lots of sex at the man's whim...
when the woman gets here, she's smart, opinionated, not submissive, and wants to be respected...she also may exploit the man right back
i can't even feel sorry for someone who then gets taken advantage of like was just described...it seems the U.S. male set out to exploit the foreign female and got beaten as his own game...shame on both...
i also know it works similarly when it's a US female seeking a foreign male under the same circumstances...the females seeking relationships this way are usually in the same situation as i described for the US males...but often times a foreign male preys on a U.S. female romancing her and working the whole "build up hr self esteem an make her feel loved" angle to get here...then abuse often starts to keep control of the U.S. female
this version is truly sad though...

Well I don't feel sorry for a female that does this either. Like the male, she might be desperate and is trying to take advantage, or is looking for an easy way with some foreigner she perceives as desperate.

I've been called "the wacko" on an occasion or two but I can tell u this much from a woman "in ur age group".....alot....and I MEAN ALOT of men these days seem to have lost the concept of dating or remembering what it's like to treat a woman like a lady. When ur deceived, lied to, and just treated like a piece of meat or dirt on the bottom of a mans shoe? U think woman won't go "wacko" on u? LOL Ask the men I've dated......I must have an asshole magnet!
It goes both ways I guess.....either way? Dating these days stinks! Plain and simple.
Never give up hope....she's out there somewhere but who knows where.......
I will never give up hope that men don't treat all woman like dirt .....agreed?  LOL

I can tell u this much from a woman "in ur age group".....alot....and I MEAN ALOT of men these days seem to have lost the concept of dating (Nope, Never learned the concept of dating since I never dated!)
or remembering what it's like to treat a woman like a lady. (Again I still remember how to treat a lady like a lady but to date never had the chance to show it!)
When ur deceived, lied to, and just treated like a piece of meat or dirt on the bottom of a mans shoe? Sounds like how I felt after several 'Crash & Burn' dates I had via AS!

i have found that the women my age are not crazy but they do not appreciate anything and always want more. it is not only you my friend. i don't drink and i never have. i am a good man, the kind that the women say they want but do they really know what they want. i don't think so. i am like your friend that went to odessa. i went to kiev ukraine and i can tell you that the women there are beautiful, they have great bodies and stay in shape, maybe because the walk everywhere. they appreciate everything you do for them or give them. just a flower makes them happy. american women are spoiled. i liked the ukraine so much that i will go back in september.

Well do not let the border gate hit you in the behind when you go. Tonylee since I do not know you, what I am going to say may not be a fair statement. Being a man that does not drink and never has although noble does not necessarily make you a good man , after all you do smoke which is a vice in itself. I have to wonder why a man would have to travel across the globe in the hope of finding love that eludes him here in this country.Certainly not all women in the United States are born with the predispositon to be spoiled. Flowers touch my heart and I know I am not in the minority.
EA makes some very good points. My friend who was married a lady from the Philipines and spent a significant amount of money to bring her and her two daughters to the USA was looking for a wife who he had hoped would be subservient to him. He clearly stated to me that he felt American women were too independent for him. She played the game long enough to get her green card she left him high and dry. These ladies know exactly what they are doing. He just married a lady from Brazil and is going through a the immigration process once again. He said she is great , she does everything for him, and does exactly as she is told. Makes me want to

No thanks ,I want a women that think for herself and have the spunk to tell a man he is wrong when he is wrong.
I would feel guilty just from a basic inner sence of right and wrong ,if a women was subservient to me and didn everything I said .
What right does one person have to control another.

Well, I have to say this before I explode! LOL Blame the world we live in before blaming all the woman u meet! Not all r nuts.....not all r crazy and if u learned from ur momma on "how to treat a woman right"? Then maybe she would treat u the same.....
Men that treat a woman like crap? Expect her to treat him like a king?  Comes down to that old adage......Treat others as u would like to be treated or be gone :-D that's what my mom taught me.
OH and for men out there over the age of 40? Not all woman r looking for a laid back type of relationship where u get laid and don't have to worry about being emotional......that's what they have hookers for I either get emails from nasty pigs or men that just down right lie. Want to talk about discouraging?

Russian-mail-order brides? Now---WHO'S wacky?
There are good people--male and female--but the older most of us get, the more we have endured. And----it's always about how well we handled what we have had to endure---or, in many cases, how well we FAILED to handle it. In reality, we choose what we allow to learn from and what we allow ourselves to carry around, as "baggage." Ultimately, we must each realize how vital it is to believe in oneself.
No one said life was easy, and it's a damn good thing, cause he would have been a complete liar.
Hopefully, we can all get better at keeping a proper perspective on what's important, and what's not.
Desperation is probably not the best way to approach anything. How desperate does one have to be to consider mail-order brides from another country?
Just a consideration.....

You have to be desperate and holding a considerable bank account too. The Immigration process is a very expensive process as well as a lengthy one. You have to be able to prove its a marriage of good faith and not merely one of convenience. This would involve several trips to spend with your beloved so you can take photos of the two of together, and her family and friends. They will expect the two of you to have a shared bank account as well. ( how scary is that to share your assests with someone that could bolt once they get here)
I think the men that take this route would serve themselves better by looking within. If for some reason you keep failing in relationships with American Women, the resposibility falls within yourself. Guess what its not going to be any different with a Russian woman if she is legitimate and truely seeking love. Human nature is the same world wide, we all have the same needs and wants no matter our geography. So take that money you would use to get your Russian Bride and find a good therapist. Fix you and then you will be ready to find a wonderful women who will love the new and improved you.

Magic, it's all in the luck of the draw. Nationality, age or religious preference make no difference. You either meet an individual whom you can have a future with, encounter someone who seeks another notch on her bed post, or what is most often the case someone who you have nothing in common with, but a potential friend.

I think the real problem is, most folks expect to meet the people that everyone else also wants to meet. A lot of people seem to be delusional; they're looking for that 10. They all want perfection. Well. No one is perfect. I feel sorry for any poor soul who fails to realize this in time, as they will most likely have passed up a beautiful opportunity with a beautiful someone who (although not perfect) could've been the love of their life.

and is perfict.....................for me............
and they may or may not be that to other folks, but it depends on what I see
in them
and in ME when I am with them...........
