As most of you know, I tend to lean toward herbal healing and remedies. Well I have decided it was time to spring clean my body and get back into shape after a lot of soul searching. I thought I might share one of the things I plan to start doing with you all. The one major change I am making is adding Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to my diet. It has a lot of benefits to the body and is easy to obtain and take. Of course I am making other changes too...doing away with white sugar and going back to using raw sugar. Can't use fake sugars as I am allergic to them big time, same with the stuff they use to preserve precut fruits and veggies, so everything has to be fresh for me! Adding a lot more fruit and veggies to my diet, walking more you know, the normal stuff.
Below are some of the benefits and recipes in using it. If anyone else tries this, I would love to hear how it works or didn't work for you.
Apple Cider Vinegar breaks down fat and is widely used to lose weight. Even if your not trying to lose weight is will break down fat so that is a good side effect of it. It has also been reported that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar in water has soaring blood pressure under control in two weeks. Some of the added benefits of ACV are it helps with allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout. The ACV has to be organic non filtered. Braggs is recommended. Most of the food stores here sell it if they have an organic foods isle. You should take it two or three times a day.
Basic recipe: 2 TBLS of ACV in 8 oz of water 3x a day. Add honey to taste.
Other suggestions:
Put a 1/4 cup in a quart of water. Put ice in a glass and drink though out the day.
Mix 2 Tablespoons a ACV with ginger ale and white grape juice.
Mango tea and one spoonful of the vinegar and an equal amount of honey
Try putting it in natural grape juice or apple juice. Grape juice tastes more like wine, apple juice tastes like apple cider.
Recipe: 2 cups organic apple cider vinegar, 8 garlic cloves, 1 cup honey. Mix in blender until garlic is chopped. Store in fridge. Use 1 Tablespoon Mix in a large glass of hot water 1x a day. Great for arthritis, stomach problems, food poisoning, intestinal flu, and everyday detox."

sounds interesting. i will definitely have to give it a try, seeing as i have high blood pressure, cholesterol problems and oh yea....weight problems.

Oh and something I tired today for the first time, I think I am going to start doing daily.
I mixed Sea Salt with trace minerals (found by the salts in the food store) with honey. Mix in enough salt to make a paste.
Take a small amount of this mixture into the palm of your hand, mix in a tiny bit of warm water. Use this to clean your face with, rinse well. When you have Patted your face dry, take a cotton ball dipped in ACV and wipe over your face, let air dry. I couldn't believe how smooth and soft my face felt!!

If I mixed that all up and applied it properly, AND pat it dry AND used ACV....do you think my BUM would look and feel younger ??

Go out into the marsh and lie in the mud for about an hour. That should do it

Speaking of high blood presure my Dad is 74 and had high blood presure and a enlarged prostrate and brought them both down into the normal range using natural remedies.
In reference to eating more Veggies ,what I do is go to the store buy several fruits and Veggies,whatever is on sale and is in season and taste good at the moments ,bring them home ,cut them up and mix them together ,put them in a large tupperware sealed container, and this last me about 4 days . Its better than cutting up a salad everytime you want one ,you soon learn which fruits and veggies have a longer shelf life than others and use them more often .
In wieght lose or just healthy cleaning and detoxification ,I may go a week or two and only eat this Veggie /fruit combo for my breakfast meal . Just eating this combo in place of the typical eggs and whatever breakfast and not eating before you go to bed will cause a safe wieght lose ,many methods of wieght lose like Adkins I think is not very good for you ,but this is very save . If you want to lose more ,exersize in the morning either before eating or after eating this light fruit /veggie combo meal. Oh yeah,add a little yogurt a egg or something for protien to the breakfast combo mix.

using salt as a scrub is cool, you can actually buy it in the stores. i learned about it back in the day, when i took massage therapy classes. you can actually use sugar too. i think i will stick with my apricot scrub lol. i will let you know what happens.

I am one of those strange people that likes to make my own stuff. I make my own bath salts all the time. I guess cause I can control what goes in it for the most part.
