Well you all know I had oral surgery yesterday, but when it comes to dentists I am the biggest baby in the world.

I went to Dr. Monticciolo in New Port Richey to have my jaw worked on and to fix a few teeth. He did it all at one time and I have to admit, he is one of the best dentists I have ever been too.

His whole office staff is wonderful and never once did they make me feel uncomfortable. Today I figured I would be in mega amount of pain, but I'm not. I have a mouthful of stitches, but they aren't sore. Only have some swelling that is it. He gave me an RX for pain pills that I haven't even taken as I am not in pain. I took Ibuprofen last night and I was fine.

If any of you are as chicken as I am, even if it was a drive I would recommend his office. He is that good.

Here is his site if you want to check him out..... www.happydentistry.com

Leave it to our Witchie to have her flirt on even when she is was about to go under the knife... Atta girl Witchie! It should be a dental requirement, that they are all hot an easy on the eyes. We would all be more likely to overcome our fears.

Ever since then my new name is sunshine when I go in to see him...lol

I don't know of one off hand, but my old roommate lives in Tampa. I'll be seeing him sometime tomorrow, so I'll ask him for you. I know Outlaw lives in Tampa too and he had some dental work done a couple of months ago too...maybe he will chime in

Chime Chime! (heh, feel like that pokemon Chimemecka!) .
But seriously I dont have my dentist's card on me right now but his office is located on Fletcher Ave between Florida and Dale Mabry (1 block west of the new walgreens store where they will fill his prescriptions for you and about 3 blocks west of the I 275 northbound on ramp) ). But his number is: 813- 968-4808

IF he has a opening he can see you and make a judgement on that tooth and tell you in advance about the cost to fill or remove. The stafff is very friendly and make sure you tell them BEFOREHAND that you dont want a lecture about tooth care and brushing lessons.
P.S I hope you like novacane via needle injection!

Its odd that as terrified as I am of needles ( nearly fainted having blood drawn last week. I seem to not panic too much with novacaine with one exception, when they stick in the roof of your mouth for an extraction. That is brutal. I will asked for novacaine during a cleaning, since my teeth are very sensitive.

Now Dove you have met me.....it is really really odd that I am terrified of them....between tattoo's and piercings I shouldn't have an issue with them, but let them try and take blood I am a basket case. The dentist I am even worse, the one nurse was joking with me cause they weren't doing anything other then checking the site and I was hyper...lol

Only reason I can think of is when I was around 16 I had blood poisoning. I spent three days in the hospital having blood drawn every two hours for the first 48. They collapsed the veins in my arms and had to take the blood from behind my knees.

about the novacaine shot...

most dentists are not like steve martin in little shop of horrors...

if you ask for some gas first and then the shot...they WILL do that...it eases the pain of the shot...

of course i have no cavities, never needed braces..and have been blessed with excellent teeth genetically...

for that i am thankful...because i have severe white coat syndrome...like i almost passed out from stress during a glaucoma exam once...

Witchie I can sympathize with the veins collapsing.. its very hard for my blood to be drawn without multible needle sticks and I cry like a baby. During my last two hospitalizations I had to get a Picc line to recieve my IV medication since my veins kept collapsing.

Okay Miss EA perfect teeth now do you really think we are going to take dental advise from someone who has never had a cavity.

Laughing gas is kinda fun though.. but being knocked out is best of all except it does involve a needle

Well I had three cavities when I was fourteen and had the choice to either "do it today" or "wait another day". I was like, what the heck, let's get it over with now!

...and I don't think I remember them jabbing me in the gums with Novacaine.

...or maybe they did, and I am suffering from post-traumatic amnesia.

I know, that is why they give you this little blue pill to take an hour before your appointment...basically, you don't give a rats behind by the time they get to the needle part...lol I have to admit the nurse was good. I told her I have bad veins, that they are deep, small and roll. She paid attention to what I told her and got the vein on the first shot and I barely felt it.

Last thing I remember from the appointment until a few hours after I got home was the dentist asking how I was. I gather they talked to me and my dad after he was done, but I don't remember a thing...lol
