You guys out in Orlando and the other coast are soooo lucky! If it goes up, you all will be able to see the shuttle going up at 7:38 pm. While Outlaw and I only see the flame from the rockets. That is if these wonderful Thunderheads go away!!

Still cloudy here, but I am hoping to see it anyway....the clouds are broken up...going to attempt to take pictures. Granted you won't be able to tell what they are....my parents are out in Orlando, yes yet again....so hopefully they will get some good shots

I miss seeing them go up. When I was growing up I used to be able to see them going up all the time from the porch. I don't get to see even the flame from where I'm at now.

Nope, it's not.
I must have looked like an idiot standing outside looking around. I know that every time things go up that I'm not going to see any thing, but I still go out and look anyway. Maybe one of these times the wind will shift it this way a bit. LOL

from here all we see is the smoke behind the rockets and the glowing flame, night launches are cool though even from this coast

I grew up in Orlando. I got to see a lot of the day liftoffs, but never any of the night ones. I'll bet that is so neat to see though. One of these years I'm going to have to take a trip to some place just so I can see one at night.

I watched people watching the shuttle go up. I was peering out of a window that overlooked the roof of the parking garage at Orlando Regional Medical Center. I saw them point at the shuttle but no matter how I tried to contort my neck to try to catch a glimpse of the shuttle I could not. My window was facing North. If I had been home I would have had a grand view I live in East Orlando and a stones throw to Cape Canaveral.

I have a wonderful view of the shuttle launches even down here in Northern Palm Beach. I live on the Intracoastal so I have an unobstructed view across the water. Launches at night are truly breathtaking, during the day with the assistance of a pair of binoculars can clearly make out the shuttle entering the ionosphere.
