Simple question, how do you see your current relationship status in eighteen months compared to today? Are you serious about finding someone verses maintaining what you have now. What actions are you taking meeting new people and have they been successful?

I would love to find someone, but I am not making that my main purpose for being on this site anymore, as I have made so many friends. I did meet someone special on here, but due to a lot of different reasons, we decided to just stay friends for now. As for the actions I'm taking meeting people, well as Dove, JF, Outlaw and Honbee can tell you, I am very shy. Dove is attempting to break that bad habit of mine...lol We have gone to a few "singles" parties together and that is a fun way to meet people. Plus, us girls try and get together once in awhile and just hang out.

Been through the Goth subculture, Wiccan, tried it all long time ago. I appreciate and respect everyone's beliefs. I would never force my personal views on anyone. I just know what works for me. I can't tell you it's the truth, nobody can, all I can say is what makes you feel secure and at home is right for you.

I operate a small data center so I have the ability to monitor serveral monitors at the same time, even at home I maintain a personal server and two seperate computers for business and personal use.

Well I leave my work, at work, when I am at home it is mine and Lestats time. The only relationship I am in right now is the mom role for my little guy, but uh I do believe it is time to get out and have some fun...

In answer to the question posed in the thread topic...

Probably about the same. I could be wrong, though - you never know. Speculating about what is likely to happen in one's social life, is likely to yield results, about as reliable, as speculation about next week's Pick 5. I don't like to dwell on what may, or what may not be, in the future; the here and now is enough of a challenge to deal with.

Well wait a minute. There's just one exception to that rule, when it comes to software, and gadgets and gizmos and stuff like that, I'm always wondering what's coming later on down the road. My enthusiasm for anything tech is pretty much an obsession.

Life is what you make it, I share your enthusiasm for technology. I wrote basic and pascal on 16 bit computers, I honed my skills on 14.4 baud modem dialing in to university bulletin boards before the advent of the Internet. Technology is merely a hobby or an interest, it bares no comparison to real life relationships. There's many individuals of the opposite sex who share a simular interest. I would suggest hooking up with some Unix folks, perhaps those involved with Defcon or other user groups that hold regular meetings.

That is so true! Technology compares not at all to such facets of life as dating and relationships, etc.

However, what I really meant was this: When it comes to just about all things in life, I don't really like to speculate what will happen in the future - this includes relationships, careers, my future friends, my potential future scrabble partners, golf partners, nursing home partners, or for that matter, the color of my toothbrush when I'm 65 (or eighteen months from now ), or for that matter, the color and style of my dentures that'll probably have one day, or for that matter whether I'll even have dentures or will it be false teeth, instead? , etc.

My point was, thinking about what the future of technology (even though it may be merely a hobby and not as important as things like relationships) holds far more interest to me, than thinking about my future in relationships (or for that matter just about anything else). In the relationship department, all I can do is my best. The future will take care (or, perhaps, not take care) of itself.
