Well I decided about a week ago I was going to really try and quit smoking. I have cut back a lot, but I had decided when I was done with the carton I bought that was it. Soooo I have four cigarettes left and then no more.

So if I bite off anyones head or am whining, just ignore me. I know how bad I can be from the last time I tried to quit. That time though I did a dumb thing, quit smoking, soda and all caffeine at the same time. This time I more or less set myself up to quit. I bought carrots, celery and green peppers to munch on if I am really dying for one. I figure healthy finger foods should help a little bit. Plus, hell I just lost 14 lbs in the last three weeks, I don't want to mess that up too. Yes, I know dieting and quiting aren't good to do together, but I am not really dieting. When I had the surgery on my jaw I couldn't eat, so it kind of set me up to just eat less, trying to pick the right foods and no junk. Plus I am swimming again now that the pool has warmed up.

So I just wanted to warn everyone if I am not myself you know why....please don't take me snapping or anything personal.

Thanks Fuchia, I have been smoking since I was 15 (OMG 31 years...just realized that) and never quit for more then three days. I just have gotten to the point I don't enjoy it anymore, it will save me like 1900 a year....Just overall ready to quit.

Jack has done so well, he really is an inspiration to me! See he isn't just our local pervert, he is a role model too...lol

Yeah! You go girl...I know how hard it is,I smoked foralmost 40 years when I quit....I was up to about 3 packs a day....I used the patch which helped me, but each person has their own "helps" that work best for them. Sunflower nuts were a godsend, both just the kernels and even ones you had to bite open and get the kernel out. We are are cheering you on .

Congrats on the weight loss as well. You are on a roll!

Thank you everyone!

At the most, if I was very stressed, I would smoke over two packs. The last month or so, I have cut it down to about a pack a day, sometimes less, sometimes more. Again it depended on my stress levels.

I wish I could do the patches, but I am allergic to the adhesive. I can't even wear band aids without breaking out in a rash...lol Yes, I have strange allergies. If I have to, I'll try the gum or something, for now though, I'm just going to try cold turkey.

right now that would be very dangerous....I have a headache from hell. Yes, I know it is more then likely mental, but it is still there. So far so good, no cheating, but then I haven't left the house at all. First thing I do in the car is light up as I don't smoke in the house.

only ashtray I had to empty was the car....don't smoke in the house, never have. I totally detailed the car yesterday. Pulled it in the garage, used a cleaner on the seats and carpets, used the shop vac to dry them more or less. Cleaned everything I could in it. Car is cleaner now then when I bought it two years ago...lol Then used a ton of Febreeze. Left it in the garage with the windows open so it could air. Moved it this morning and no smoky smell at all. I also did all my laundry, so nothing at all has a smoky smell to it.

Right now, Altoids are my friends...lol

Witchie we are all pulling for you, I know you can do it!
Just remember it will get easier overtime, and if Jack can do it, you can do it.
You don't want him felling all superior to you do you ?
Well then just keep up the good work,or it might turn into one of those "men have more will power than women" threads.
The whole female gender is counting on you. ,and secretly us guys too.
